I don't wear much makeup - just some concealer (shiseido), some light powder (shiseido), a little bit of blush (MAC), mascara (L'Oreal) and lipstick.

I am more of a skin care person and have a lot of different face creams, eye creams, serums, toners etc.

Len, should you ever need skincare product input, I think I might be the person to ask. lol

On that note, getting my hair cut and dyed in the US was about $120.00, but I just got it cut, dyed, styled and a manicure and pedicure here in Brazil for less than $40! Take that America!

i spent over a 100 here on my wedding day. never again. i only get haircuts here for less than 30. pedicure, manicure i do myself because not only it's extremely expensive, they don't do it like they do in brazil, they do half the job (in brazil they remove the cuticles and all, here they just paint your nails and it's like in the middle of the nails,. weird weird stuff)

i miss brazil when it comes to hair, nails, etc. as for dying my hair, i've always done it myself, first because i don't really trust people with my hair unless i know they're good professionals, meaning, they charge a lot of money. so i can do it, i'm good at it.

so the admin is gone. i got to spend almost 5 hours with her today and i did a checklist of everything i taught her, had her put her initials saying ''i told her it has to be done'' ''i showed her how to do it'' and/or '' i let her do it''. so she cannot tell my boss she didnt know it had to be done or i didn't teach her.

Yeah, I love the ped/manicure here! It's sooo nice and it's great that it is so affordable that everyone does it at least once every two weeks. I was saying to my mother-in-law that I need to learn how to do it properly and start charging for it in the US. Not actually open up my own shop or anything, but just make sure that all of my friends know (and their friends and so on) that I do kick-#### manicures for really cheap!

Smart! Sounds like a very good idea with this girl!

the checklist was charles idea. i made a 5 pages doc file with step by step on how to do my job. she still can't do anything right. so just so my boss wont think i didnt teach her or i taught her wrong when she can't do anything right, the checklist proves that she was taught everything and if she can't do it it's not my fault.

That's what I was hoping.

I was just wondering who would actually want to watch a video of their wife/ gf/ friend/ relative giving birth. With close up action and crowning. I know people film it, but when and with whom do they watch it??

Javi says he's not even taking the camera in with us. Of course, he'll take pictures of the boys once they arrive but he has forbidden anyone from even suggesting pics be taken of the actual delivery. I'm all in with him on that one too. I don't need any pictures of my hooha in that state floating around anywhere for anyone to see. And of course, if it ends in a c-section I really don't care to have all that on film either.

And Len, I messed around and cut my hair not long after I found out I was pregnant. Now I'm in a hurry up and grow mode so it'll be grown back out once they get here. I should have just listened to Javi when he told me not to cut it. Oh well!

You look very cute with short hair...I was more thinking of women turning into 100% Moms, who give up on their looks after birth. Who cut their hair short for convenience reasons, stop wearing make up and wear baggy sweatpants everywhere, because it's comfy.

lol I did cut my hair last summer after becoming a mom, it wasn't really just that though. It's so hot here in the summer, my hair was just really annoying me and after the baby is born you shed like crazy, ewww. I had cut it above the shoulders, and now it's still about that length. But yeah it's sad when a mom loses their whole look. I can kind of sympathize though because sometimes they are just too tired and overwhelmed. But I still try to stay "in style" (well my version of it, not every might think I am so stylish haha) and wear cute accessories and stuff b/c I know I didn't lose myself just by becoming a mom. I guess some just give up because they are too tired. lol. Seen some great episodes on "What Not to Wear" of moms who need help!! Love the outcomes! :)

I was thinking the other day when I was tiding up the closet. I found this pair of short and sexy top, and I told Justin "I wonder if I'll want to wear this again. Doesn't really say mom". He said "It still says hot wife"

Do most women start dressing more conservatively after they have babies?

Saludos,

Caro

You should come to Texas if you like your cuticles cut...they all want to cut half my finger every time I go in for a manicure. I start bleeding around my nails and peeling about an hour after I leave the place  I've tried several different places, no luck. I'm never trying another manicure here again (unless I find one that is latin american)

Saludos,

Caro

Well sister julia, shoot some good eye cream ideas my way!!!

I currently use/ have:

Shiseido benifiance (very greasy, so food for winter)

Chanel Sublimage (less greasy, absorbs quickly and you can feel the skin firming as you apply)

Chanel Beaute Initale eye (the pink series, love it so much)

Clinique Repairwear (non greasy, works wonders)

Clinique Advanced Stop Signs Eye (SPF 15 - use in summer also)

Clinique Anti Gravity (a little more greasy)

Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair (I use itin the summer, a light cream gel, so smooth and hydrating)

I have a luxury cosmetic store next door, so I am right at the source. I love skin care products.

Forgot one - ShiseidoBio Performence Super Eye Contour Cream - very rich, use it thick after a facial

My friend swears by this La Mer stuff that's like $150. She bought me some for V-day  I was impressed. My eyes are more lovely than before.

Oh Marina...yes I had to pay for all that candy by myself. Each year someone has to do it, this was my first time. I can't complain too much. It would be slightly less annoying if I actually had kids.

Wow, that's a lot of money. I think I'd prefer that every year everyone puts in some money for it. That way I would still be paying the same amount of money, but I wouldn't have to cash out a big chunk like that.

PS. Del's boss told everyone that they had to come into work today to finish this car that they are working on (he's a high performance mechanic) and that they couldn't leave work until it was done. The car has a race tomorrow in Rio (we live in São Paulo) so it was imperative that they finish. They were told that today would be a half day most likely, but that they really did have to finish the car.

It's 8:30 at night and he's still not home! I talked to him at 6 and he said he was about to leave and so I just called him to see where he was (since the shop is only like 30 minutes from here!) and he said he would be home in an hour because something went wrong with the car after we got off the phone.

Not his fault but super annoying. It's a holiday here today! Everyone was off!

My extended family is so large I'll probably never have to do it again. Unless I live about 100yrs more :P

I suggested everyone putting some money in for it each year, but my grandma told me it would be unfair to the people who have already put out the money in years past.
