put the trash somewhere else.. or feed teh squirrels..

I have to put it where the garbage guy will pick it up. That's the only spot.

I was just reading about this product online.. "Shake away" ... a granular powder that supposedly smells like a fox and scares squirrels away. Anyone ever use this?

:o Does that mean what I think it means???? :o

Have you tried putting a heavy brink on the lids of the trashcans? Something that would be too heavy for them to push off?

No, but that sounds possibly dangerous if there are (and there are, esp. in the summer) kids playing around the area. There's this little stone bench in front my door that the kids next door (1st and 2nd graders) love to hang out on.

Are you sure that it is the squirrels? It could be 'coons. Them are nasty and crafty creatures.

Look around for some clamps to hold the lids.

I'm saying it's squirrels because this morning I looked out the window while getting ready for work and saw the bag ripped up with a squirrel standing on its hind feet right next to it, looking up. I think it was thanking the lord for a good meal. I don't blame it, those muffins tasted good.

How about a serious suggestion?

I realize that. Still, not a suggestion I can take seriously as I can't stand there watching. I am in the office right now and they are probably ripping that bag up as we speak.

Looks like the squirrel was framed by the '#######. I told you that they are crafty.

You can try just putting something slightly heavy on top of the lid. That shoulod prevent squirrels from popping the lid.

'Coons on the other hand, you will have a real battle.

We got a big dog. Keeps other critters in their places.
