Apparently not here in Brazil.

Actually, it shouldn't have taken *quite* so long, except his ex-wife is a b!tch. They got all the papers together back in Oct 05 and then Del moved to London. From London he called his ex quite a lot and she assured him that she filed the papers for the divorce. At the beginning of 2007, Del called his lawyer here (from London) and was told that the ex never brought the papers in. So, he underwent a very long process of getting his father approved as his power of attorney (while he was in London and his father was here) and finally in Oct 07 his father (acting as Del) and the ex officially signed the papers. According to Brazilian law, once you sign the papers you have to wait 12 months before the decree will be made. So Oct 2008 the 12 months was up, we paid the final judge fee (of R$1500.00!) and they told us it would be ready in 6 weeks.....continue story from above.

hell yeah.. it's goood to be here with my Hörnchen..

hey noob.. go to el pulgarcito and have some good food

I don't know where it is. Maybe after you get back, if Julia doesn't mind, we'll meet up for lunch. When are you coming back anyway? I've lost all track of time since the babies were born. Every day is running together because I do the same thing over and over again.

On a side note, the babies are 11 days old today. Woohoo!!!

Nessa-Have you gotten back into your regular clothes yet? I was just wondering, since we both had a c-section, how long it might take. Mom brought me some of my regular clothes down yesterday and I'm not even close to getting in them yet. I'm still wearing my maternity pants. They are getting bigger and bigger on me but my belly is still pooched out there. I don't even have any idea how much I weigh since I'm here. There isn't a scale anywhere in sight.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

everybody is different, so don't be scared, i gained 38 lbs, i have 9 lbs still to lose and none of my pants fit me, most don't even go past my thighs. i believe it's because my hips got bigger for childbirth and they're not back to normal, because every winter i gain around 10lbs on the holidays and all of my pants would still fit me, tight, but fit me. also they were still fitting me after i gained my first 8lbs when i got pregnant. hopefully it's gonna be different for you.

Yeah, you have to be legally separated for at least a year before filing for divorce in Brasil, and then there's a whole bureaucracy to go through so it does take quite a while.
