i used to go the beach often, so i was tanned a lot. i never liked the tanning bed. now it's been 2.5 years that i'm pale. i am already pale by nature. my boss called me snow white when i died my hair black, because i looked even more pale.

our plan is to confuse all the americans that think all brazilians have dark skin, based on the soccer players that happen to be darker. If they only knew we have less dark skin people than the united states...

Yep, once I had someone in my guild in World of Warcraft ask if everyone in Brazil is black or really tan and that he couldn't believe we had white people with blonde hair and blue eyes out there. Of course a big arguement ensued afterwards. >.<

That's just silly. Brazil has more diversity in its people than any other country I've been to so far. Which I think is awesome. Brazilians are generally thought to be some of the hottest people in the world for a reason! ;)

When I first got here I got a bit stared at while walking around on the street (when I was not talking, I still get stared at when I walk around speaking English!), but I don't think that had so much to do with my pale skin, blond hair and blue eyes, but just how I dressed. The people could tell something was different about me. Now that I've been here for a while, I don't get stared at any more. For the most part when I talk to people -in Portuguese- they don't even look at me funny. So that's an accomplishment I guess! ;)

Although, the other day on the bus the bus driver asked me if I was Portuguese. I guess he could tell something about the way I talked wasn't quite right, but he couldn't figure out what! I was flattered. Oh and last night as I was pulling out of the grocery store parking lot, the parking attendant told me I looked like Madonna........weird.

You're right Marina, at least in Rio and 'cus of the big diversity I think we most can tell a person is foreign by how they dress and move. Tourists are REALLY easy to spot though.

Yeah I was going to mention that it might have had something to do with the way I moved and looked around at stuff. Now I'm used to everything here and how everyone else moves, ect. Some people think I'm crazy when I say I think I move differently, but I swear I do! The way I move my hands when I talk, etc....it's just different.

But I think I'm fitting in more and more everyday! :)
