marina do you get red bumps on your skin? or is there spots where it looks like the tiny hairs might be more than one hair in a follicle? or look thicker even? It might be keratosis pilaris. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratosis_pilaris

eta: it doesn't always look like the red bumps and it isn't always itchy

Wow, you are faster than Dr. House!!! That does seem to match a bit! I don't have red bumps on my skin most of the time though. Every once in a while they appear on my legs but never my arms and it's only every once in a while. But as the article says, it is almost never my lower arms, but my upper arms and upper and lower legs. I don't have any weird hairs though.

My dad also had this problem for a while (guess I should have mentioned that before in my "medical history" hehe. He didn't have red bumps either, but he had chicken skin all over his body.

It appears my doctor before Dr. Amby had the same idea. The steriod cream I mentioned before is one of the medicines it lists on the wiki article that is used to treat this problem.

If this is what I have, does this mean there is no hope and no cure? :crying:

My doc in the US just said, use this and see if it helps...now I want to know if she thought it was this!

I don't buy it.

Why not? My eye has twitched from stress before especially when I worked with a bunch of preschoolers. Why can't a mouth twitch from stress. Maybe the food thing is because when you eat unhealthy food that is more enjoyable, it reduces your stress level. :P Vegetables aren't as relaxing to eat if they don't have a good flavor. Vegetables require more chewing too.

The docs don't know why I don't feel rested no matter how long I sleep. They first thought it was narcolepsy but 2 sleep studies have said it wasn't. Something about me not staying in REM sleep but no idea why or what to do about it. This all started after my son was born...so nearly 8 years of this #######.
