hmmm..let me know about matilda..if there were threats made and the employee is allowed to return to their work site, then it is a possible case of a hostile work enviroment

I will hermano, thanks! there were no threats, but his screaming ####### like "DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ENGLISH!!" to the boss, and honestly, simply screaming in the workplace is fvcked up. I think it is unpredictability of when his fuse will go off; and of course the usual ####### of having to do his damn job. Me no likey.

Soooo...I think this guy sitting near me has tourettes...seriously he keeps randomly screaming the word Fargo?!?!?! The people talking to him don't even acknowledge it

Next, this girl I don't even know is sitting here talking to me and telling me sh*t I don't even care to know. I'm too nice so I do some good pretend listening, give some good uh huh oohhhh feedback, and she's happy. Anyways, she's actually crying (very intensely!!!) telling me that she's putting in all this time with math tutoring and she's not going to pass the class. The prof won't even give her credit for trying and doing all the tutoring. If she doesn't pass the class, she won't be able to get financial aid, she won't be able to go to school, social services will take her son away. Ughhhhhhh...#######? She is now telling me they're making her take parenting classes because she doesn't discipline her son well enough, but if she disciplines him too much they will take him away because she abuses him. OMFG! Seriously I want to tell her to shut up, but at the same time I feel bad for her.

I know it's probably horrible of me, but all I can think is it must really suck being stupid, poor, and trashy. Oh and she's in a wheelchair

Oh man, she has one fvcked up life :(

I know! I feel bad not listening to her, but at the same time I don't really care. Why the hell do random people just come up and start telling me their life stories? Do I just look THAT nice?

Why would she think the professor should pass her just because she is trying?? That might work in gym class in high school, but that is not how college works and it confuses me that their are actually people out there who think otherwise!! Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for her too...sounds like she's having a really tough time right now. But you have to actually know the material (or at least enough to pass the test) to pass the classes once you're in college or even in high school for that matter!

You know, maybe it's not all that easy to be super fabulous when one has physical limitations.

Well that's why I said it must suck to have all those things not going for her!

That's what I wanted to tell her, but she was freaking out so much I didn't want to make it worse. I think she just needed someone to listen and not reply.

The fact that she is in a wheelchair shouldn't affect most of what the girl was complaining about though. She complained that the professor wouldn't pass her even though she is trying really hard, she complained that she is being made to go to parenting classes because she does not know how to discipline her son properly (okay, one could argue this has to do with physical limitations, but I highly highly doubt it! We all know parents in wheelchairs who are perfectly capable, amazing parents!), and she also needs financial aid (which again, could be because she has physical limitations...but LOTS of people without physical limitations need financial aid as well...so her being in the wheelchair has nothing to do with it!).

I think the point of Amby telling us that she was in a wheelchair was so we could better imagine the situation that she is in right now (amby, not the girl in the wheelchair).

Why don't you just give her the link to visajourney so she can read strangerss advice, since everyone knows about her problems now. lol.

I agree that random people crying to me about their problems is awkward to me. If you are my friend, then I'd love to hear your problems and help you out, but otherwise, it's strange for someone that you don't know to just come up to you and start telling you their life story.

And before you say that is what we do on VJ, it's different. VJ is an online forum where I choose to read what I choose to read and I choose to reply to what I choose to reply to. That means if I don't want to read about someones story, then I don't have to. But in this case, Amby couldn't just walk away and not respond because that would be rude.
