Hello all, I have a question regarding my husband's green card expiration date!

I was a little confused about something!

I have a friend that got her permanent residency card thru marriage and K3 visa her green card expires as usual in 2 years. My hubbies green card expires on 2019. Will I still have to do the removal of conditions? how come my friends green card expires in the 2 yrs of her marriage and my hubbys expires in 10 years?!!

It seems like you got lucky with the 10 year green card :)

You will not have to remove conditions. There were some others on VJ that got the 10 year green card (by mistake) and when they applied to remove conditions their packets were returned to them.

Doesn't seem too strange, one of my best friends had his GC renewed. At the time of renewal he was like 16 or something when he got the new card, they messed up his birth year by 2 yrs :D

This means that he started drinking "legally" @ 19! the sucker! Little perk from Uncle Sam ;)

But indeed they made a mistake. I just hope the OP does not have issues later on you know? that would be sad :(

I suggest you call the USCIS to see what they have in the system because the card may have one date and their system another date. If they say he's good until 2019 then by all means dance the night away. If not, at least you called to make sure. :)

The same thing happened to my cousin and they made and infopass appointment and they said all was well. They were only married for 14 months and received the 10 year card.
