How do you like your steak done?

Nothing like a great steak. I always ask for Medium Rare however given the descriptions atop, when I ask for medium rare, it comes to be as described under "rare", so that's how I like it.

One year my sister and brother-in-law, who live in England, decided to surprise us with a visit. Only the surprise was on them because we were up at the cottage! Anyway, they drove the 3 hours and got there in time for dinner. I was bbq'ing and I asked Jason how he liked his steak. He said "Well done" and I said "Well, that's too bad." I wasn't about to ruin a good steak by over-cooking it. He now likes his steak medium-rare. In fact, if you remove the surprise visit and the cottage, this is exactly the same scenario I went through with my husband.

Yeah I like mine well done too - and I have tried it other ways - just not my cup of tea. But! I don't think of well done as ruining the steak because when it is well cooked it tastes good to me

I generally like my steaks medium rare, but there are a few exceptions. I like a porterhouse a bit more on the medium side, and for some reason, I really like the end cut of prime rib which tends to be medium to medium well.
