najia, it depends on the District Office where the interview is conducted. In my town, I just found out that they will do the oath on the same day if you've had an early morning appointment. Otherwise they schedule it for the next day, or soon after.

Sometimes, the wait can be several months. I just read the NO has a 'secret' local office where they have started up interviews and oaths again, and the regular office is scheduled to reopen in March. (you have New Orleans listed as your District Office--Texas would be the Service Center for that area)

I waited a month between interview and ceremony in Houston, but for my parents the wait was only a week. In our district the ceremonies are scheduled for set dates throughout the year (every month or month and a half) and when you get approved they just schedule you for the next one- my parents were just lucky to be interviewed right before a ceremony already scheduled for the following week.

I big thing is was everything is complete at the time of the interview. The background/name check delays a lot of people (my wife included) from finishing the process. Not to say yours will take this long to complete, but some people have been waiting for over a year.
