Hello everyone,

Has anyone ever felt like moving back to the country your loved one is from. My wife is From Guatemala and it just seems like without the large family and friends that she is not the same. I think I feel in love with more than my wife, I fell in love with the contry as well. I have three kids and I see them becoming more American day by day. I am not saying I hate America It jsut seems like our lifes are so fast that we have no time to enjoy anything. Has anyone else gone through this or is it just me? thanks for listining

You are not alone. :) Yes you're right life is so fast here in US but going back to my country is not the best option for us at this time maybe hubby is retired.I miss my family,my country, friends everything but this is my new home now and new family so I learned to just accept everything. If you are retired and getting pension moving to your spouse country will not be a bad idea.Just an opinion. :luv:

I love the fast paced lifestyle of the USA, and most people are cool here and the weather is awesome! I've been here 15 years and I will never go back to Canada to live. Only for summer vacations.

You thoughts and feelings are totally acceptable.

I spent many years in my fiancee's country (New Zealand) and will move back to either there or Australia at some point down the road.

For the same reasons you mention above, if/when we have kids, they will not grow up in the US.

This may offend people who haven't spent much time outside the US, but with regard to quality of life, most other developed countries are better places to live. In my opinion, the US is only good for making money, as the cost of living is low and salaries are high, but everyone is in a hurry and only care about themselves and money. This is just my opinion though.

I haven't felt like moving there, but wish I could visit there more often. I want to go there more than he does.... his family is so sweet, and I'm so relaxed when I'm there. Everyone is so nice to me. It's not like we usually travel around the country, either - we did a little last year, but most of the time, we just hang out with his family or walk around his small city.

I know how you feel. I miss my home country and hubby wants to move there to have a better life (thought less money due to high taxation). If you really feel happier in your wife's country, why not do the move if feasible? Life is too short.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

I couldn't have worded it better myself!!!!

I actually find the lack of stat holidays here to be one of my major aggrevations. To think I would have had both Good Friday AND Easter Monday off in Canada and here I get NEITHER!!!!!! I read recently that Americans live to work, not work to live. I don't have any desire to have that kind of lifestyle. Thankfully, neither does my husband.
