She called yesterday, after many calls about what to do, she had her interview around February 15, 2008 and they wanted additional utility bills for evidence, then she heard nothing for over a year. She was shy about contacting her senator or taking them to court after 120 days, but one day, her oath letter did come in a couple of weeks without her doing anything to expedite it. So she is a USC now. She was a year ahead of us and let us know about her problems with the USCIS, so we could be prepared for them. The bottom line is thanks to her problems, we spent 19 months less with the USCIS than she did.

Since she had her interview, 02/15/2008 and was called in 30 later to supply utility bills, I included those with our application that was sent in 03/31/2008. But where in the instructions did it say to include those utility bills? We included everything they asked for plus some extra things, then the utility bills as well.

Wish her congratulations when I talked to her yesterday, and thanks for letting us know all the problems she went through.

Just posting this as a warning, send lots and lots of evidence or have a very long wait.

We went over her evidence, everything in the instructions and the M-476, but just seems like they are having a bug on with utility bills. Does it make any sense? Why don't they included utility bills in the instructions? Weakest form of evidence ever, can call and tell them Rachel, Cher, or even Laura Bush is my wife, what do they know, just go by the name you give with no additional proof? Hear the same request at our DMV, crazy.

Yup! Agree - utility bills are crazy requirement. I've mentioned before on other posts, those don't prove anything and are weak evidence because the utility company is going to add whatever name on the bills next to the account holder name as long as the account holder requests. Well... if that's what USCIS wants, better get prepared then.
