Easter's the most important time of year for a church! :bonk::lol:

Oh and Saturday I saw the BEST sign.....

No, I meant that's the busiest time so that's why you don't have it off! LOL. I'd go to that Palm Sunday service. I love bagpipes. :luv:

ha ha.. we just have 1 extra service here.. we are pretty "low" on the liturgy end.. I may go to a sunrise service at *gasp* another church.. cause we don't have one of those :(

Bagpipes?? REALLY? that would make me run for the hills (esp. if they were INSIDE the church)

 I love the bagpipes. Especially when they're played properly.

I/we go to all different churches around here because we haven't really found one that fits us yet. The one we went to yesterday was advertising another church's sunrise service down at the beach. That sounds lovely.

I was suprised that Americans/companies don't get off Good Friday nor Easter Monday, especially due to the religious population here. I dunno, I assumed it was a really important holiday but it's not since everything is open and most people still have to work.

Yeah, I was just as surprised for the very same reason. Everything here is God, God, God, but when it comes to Easter.....

Yep.. it's tough these days to find a good church.. Hubby looked ALL over CT before we found our "fit".. We actually moved so we could be closer to it (we were living about 1 hr away).

LoL, Mel is always amazed that the stores stay open here on holidays. So many people suddenly become a bit religious around Easter. I know people who will take 4 hours to go to an ash wednesday service, but really just take a 5 hour lunch. On a side note, we don't get family day off either, just real holidays :jest:

Where is Mel from, must be a smallish town? (I assume Mel is the Canadian - you guys are confusing but anyway lol)

In Calgary all stores, restaurants etc are open on all stat days - except for Christmas.

Mel is from London, ON. Not really a small town I would say.
