I applied for SSN today. I got out in about 30 mins. All they asked was my EAD card and my passport. They did not ask for anything else. They only looked at the identity page of my passport.

visacheck: Could you tell me, are you able to see your I-130 & I-485 online. If your I-485 is visible, does it say that you have been sent the Interview letter or has been touched? Also, since I feel you and I have almost similar situation, did your I-130 get approved without an interview and has it been touched online.

Hi visacheck! My I-130 was last updated in March. I-485 still not online. I did call USCIS yesterday and they told me that I-130 has been attached to the I-485 and apparently I will be interviewed for both when called in for the I-485 interview. They couldn't give me a time frame for the interview date though. Lets see how long a wait it will be for me. Are you preparing the evidence for the interview?

Christerra22: Did you get your SSN. I can see from your timeline that you applied. You can get the number from the SSN office the following day. Whats the story with the DL? BTW, you have to pass the written test for the Learners Permit.

Saspak I got a quick question for you. Did your EAD come in the same envelope as the approval notice? According to USCIS the sent the approval noticed on May 11 but I have not received yet and I can't wait until I get my ead card.

Castillo: I may be wrong, but i dont think they send an approval notice/letter for the EAD. Approval automatically means that the EAD card is being processed and mailed to you. I may be wrong, but i think thats what it is. I received the EAD card in the mail. There was no Approval letter/notice. The EAD came with a covering letter though. Looking at your Timeline, your EAD was approved on May 11th, so you should be expecting a card in the mail by tomorrow or Saturday. Congratulations:)

Congrats Anslesis...... go ahead and apply for your SSN. The AOS process is complex really, some people getting their Interview letter and then EAD card while some are getting EAD card and then may be interview letter, later.

I already have my SSN. I got it about 10 years ago when I first moved here. All I'm doing now is prepare for the interview. It's been really smooth and quick for me. It's better than I expected!

Hi visacheck, I think they interview you if you are adjusting from VWP, tourist or if you have had a short marital span. I asked them and CRIS said, they'll interview me for both at the same time if an interview is required. The officer also said, that If I-485 is approved, I-130 will automatically be approved. I am actually surprised that your I-130 got approved without an interview, since you are adjusting from B-1/B-2 too. I wish I had your luck. Am glad one of your worries is over:)

My I-130 will officially be past 6 months on June 6th,2009. Have my fingers crossed.

Saspak where did you call to ask and get all these replies ?? the normal 1800 number ?? as far as i have seen the 1st operator hands over the 2nd one, as he cdnt find the case online. The 2nd operator gives vague or no reply. How did you manage to talk to the higher officer ?? whats the trick ??
