But like Sapphire, I didn't want to spend $180 on nothing, I might as well complete the cycle and get something out of it right? I just got the second one this morning... my arm hurts.

Can you refuse the Gardasil vaccinations? What age do they consider people at risk?

I seriously couldn't recommend ANYONE to get the Gardasil vaccination considering absolutely no long term testing has been done, and it only protects against very, very, few strains of the HPV. I can't believe they would mandate the vaccine.

It's mandatory for females 26 years old and younger. You can file a waiver if you don't want it, but that could add a lot of waiting time to the visa process and is not worth it in my opinion.

Have you ever met anyone who had a loved one die from Cervical Cancer? It's a very painful and horrible experience so I'd rather take my chances with the vaccine than get cervical cancer, even if I'm only protected from 4 strains out of 120. That's 4 strains more than 0. A lot of things we eat or take are not tested long term... many birth control pills or newer drugs that have provided us with many a cure. You take your chances. In my case I was tested negative for HPV by my Dr. before I received the vaccine and she recommended I get the shot even before I had to have it. While I think it's a shame that people have no choice to get to immigrate... it's not the end of the world and we have discussed it at length already on VJ in the Canada forum. Anyways, I don't want to take this off-topic anymore than I have!!

LoL, Gardisil is an internet virus. It infects innocuous threads and turns them into heated arguments.

You can pay for the interview in U.S. or Canadian funds. It was $131 U.S., or $171.20 Canadian when we had our interview last month.
