1. He split our calendar in two: B.C. and A.D.

2. He showed us God is love.

3. He refused a crown to bear a cross.

4. He occupies no grave.

5. His sermon on the Mount set forth the highest standard for how we should live.

6. He modeled forgiveness in a world of stone throwers.

7. He transformed fishermen and tax collectors into world changers.

8. He healed the sick and raised the dead…enough said.

9. He challenged religion devoid of compassion.

10. He willingly accepted a cruel death so that we might have life.

As we enter Holy Week we contemplate Jesus’ death and that first Easter morning. The week started with betrayal, confusion and sorrow only to end in celebration. The scriptures tell us that God “showed his love among us — He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.”

Goooo Jesus!!!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

Goooo Jesus!!!!

Amen!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

He died for our sins so that we can commit as many sins as we want and still go to Heaven (if we ask Papa Bear for forgiveness).

He accepted a cruel death so that we sinners may have (eternal) life (but only if we ask Papa Bear for forgiveness before we lay down for <eternal> rest)....Or something like that.

Can't go along with "1. He split our calendar in two: B.C. and A.D.", Caesar Augustus did that. A.D., Anno Domini as he had kind thoughts about himself and restarted the Roman Calendar at zero in honor of his reign. Nothing to do with Jesus Christ, that was actually born from 4-7 years earlier. The Roman Calendar was unchanged until the time of Pope Gregory as he felt honoring a saint when the location of the earth in the orbit around the sun should be in that same exact location. But actually that is in reverse because at that time they thought the sun was rotating around the earth, so the sun should be in that exact same spot.

In those days, the Church has supreme authority over the entire Western Civilization so the Church could do or say anything they wanted to. The Martin Luther rebellion was fairly young at the time starting about 60 years before the new calendar.

What I find ironic from these early studies is that Pope Gregory maintained the same names of the months the Romans used that are mostly Roman gods, well exception of August that is now short for Augustus. You would think he should have used the names of the apostles or famous saints for the names of the months in his new calendar. And changed the date that Jesus was born, but still a lot of uncertainty about that exact date, hint, it is not Christmas day. More like early June from the best estimates.

Ironically, many of the teachings of Jesus were already published 200 years before his birth, like do unto other as you would have them do on to you. We have to take the word of strangers written decades after his death as to all these miracles, and the word of just a handful of people as to if he actually arose from the dead. But the Christian religion did become popular in the sense that was the first religion to give some honor to women and we find that women in our lives do carry a very significant role, especially to our wives and our mothers. In my day, all of my teachers were women with the first male teacher in high school, but even today, most of the teachers in grade school are women.

Just some thoughts, I really don't have even the slightest idea what the real truth is. But Anno Domini refers to Caesar Augustus as being the lord, not Jesus Christ.

Just for clarification...it's not so that we can just sin as much as we want to and still go to Heaven. If we are following Jesus we are supposed to try to live a certain way and not purposely go around sinning, but it's impossible to not sin since even one bad thought is a sin. So the only way our souls could be redeemed was through His death...a perfect person and God himself paying the ransom price for sin because a price HAD to be paid. We were supposed to pay for it ourselves, but He paid it for us and whoever wants to accept that He did it won't have to pay that price themselves. The price would be death and hell if our souls didn't have a way to be redeemed through Jesus.

Anyway I believe it's true and that He did raise from the dead(or else I wouldn't believe any of this) and that He's real. I wholeheartedly follow Jesus.

(btw I am a scary "born again" Christian, runnnnnn everyone!)

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
