I-693 Immunizations, TB skin test

There's been alot of discussion/confusion about the new I-693 form, getting immunizations transcribed by a Civil Surgeon, being charged too much, and the new TB skin test requirement despite having a chest x-ray and being cleared of TB by the panel physician at the K1 medical exam.

We decided to rebel and not send an I-693 or get a TB skin test in the US and see what happened. This was despite having a medical exam after June 1, the cut-off date for using the new I-693 and having the TB test. We found it ridiculous to spend any more money on things that had been done properly. Why pay somebody to put down your immunizations on a new form when they were all completed? Why get a TST when you had been cleared by an x-ray? And so we waited for an RFE before we were going to submit to the insanity.

So this is a follow up of what happened:

We sent a copy of the DS-3025 immunization worksheet which had all required shots prior to immigrating. The case was transferred to CSC. EAD and AP were approved in about 60 days. No RFE was ever received concerning the medical, immunizations, or the TB skin test. The green card was received April 3.

This isn't meant to be advice one way or the other. I just wanted to report what happened because I'm sure there are others who did the same thing and may be wondering. Obviously if you didn't have all the shots completed in the home country, then the I-693 would be the proper way to report the completion of the requirements in the US. Perhaps coming from a country with little incidence of TB helped on that part.

So there ya go. There are still green cards being approved without the I-693 and TST. :star:

I would say there is at least one green card approved without the I-693 and TST.

Congrats though!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Yeah quite a few peeps get away without doing the I 693. Quite a few get RFEs also.

Looks like the OP didn't have a interview. People can't count on not getting a intervew.

Bottomline it's safer to do the I-693 trip!

Make that at least three. Here's two more that I can recall

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

Email received today!

And in case anyone is interested, we just sent the Vaccination record, didn't have it transcribed.

I recently got approved wthout an interview and I didn`t have the TB skin test done, just the X rays while in Belgium.

Neither did I get anything transcribed. My medical and vaccination record were complete and I handed them over in the

big brown envelope at the POE.

I read a lot about the new requirements ( my medical was dated after June 1st, so new rules would apply to it)

I didn`t get any RFE and got approved sooner than expected after being transfered to CSC.

Hope this helps!

Again, as I posted first. This isn't meant to be advice one way or the other. I just wanted to report what happened.
