Greetings!

I was browsing VJ and I came across an interesting document that relates to extending approval because of the I-797 expiring. How often has anyone applied for extending approval once they have received the NOA2? We already have our NOA2, but what if the NVC takes a LONG time to process our application? Does that mean that my fiancée & I have to apply for an extension if she cannot have the interview date by July 24? July 24 is the last day the NOA2 is valid as written on our NOA2.

NVC and Consulate automatically extend K-1 NOA2 approval for you.

The doc on VJ is a letter to simply remind the consulate to extend.

In our case "China" the interviews for K-1 NEVER happen within the 4 months, the consulate extends them ALL.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Andrea & Nik, I think usually your fiance will have the interview before July. As long as your fiance completes and returns packet 3 and schedules the interview as soon as possible and not drag it on. Usually NVC are quick for K 1 visa's...

My fiancée has all the information she needs to send to the consulate. I sent her my I-134 form along with supporting documents (W2, 2008 IRS tax return, and letter of employment from my employer). Hopefully that should be enough. However, I really don't want to have this process drag on past July since our planning would then be disrupted quite a bit. It's so hard to plan!
