A silly typo on G-325A. What to do? Sit back and wait for RFE?!

Hello everyone. Recently noticed the mistake my fiancé (the applicant) made when completing the forms for K1.

G-325A. “Applicant’s residence last five years. List present address first.”

The fisrt two lines not impossible to be overlooked. It looks like this: he lived in such and such place from Sept2008 to Dec2009 (should be 2008!!!!) and then in such and such place from Dec2009 to Present time.

It’s obvious!! One can see it’s a stupid typo. But I bet the bureaucratic officials are as faultfinding as could be.

What do we do? We are 1,5months into the K1 process at Vermont. It’s annoying to sit back helplessly and wait for a RFE when you know you had made a mistake. Or is it so crucial?!

Vermont is taking ages these days just like that and a RFE would hold us back even longer than that!!

Please say what you think. Thank you.

I wouldn't worry about it right now. If it is a concern you will receive an RFE. If you send the info now, there is little guatentee that the new GA-325 will make it to your file. Just sit tight now. Good luck.

I am bit confused on your terms, and I believe you are also. The USC is the "petitioner" and will be referred to as that throughout the process and the foreign fiance(e) is the "beneficiary" or will be referred to as the "applicant" while applying for the visa. The I-129f is not a visa application, it is a petition to request a person be allowed to apply for a visa. Not to be a stickler, I am not that way, really, but it makes a difference sometimes and can be confusing to someone trying to help

OK, that side, for such an obvious typo you may or may not ge an RFE. It may be approved and forwarded on for interview and you may be asked to correct it at the interview. While obvious, and while it can be confusing (obviously a mistake, so what is correct?) it is not of a matter that affects your eligibility for an approved petition.

At any rate there is nothing you can do. Trying to send them a correction now will only get lost in the USCIS black hole. The term "black hole", used by astronomers, originated in the USCIS mail room. Bet you didn't know that.

I would also suggest, just my opinion from my experience, only ONE person should be completing any forms. In my opinion, particularly if a foreign language is involved, that should be the USC. From petition through to AOS.
