We just got the IV bill from the NVC, at the same time we received advice from the London Embassy to fill out the paperwork (packet 3) for the K3. Should we send in the paperwork for the K3 whilst simultaneously applying for CR1, or should we now totally abandon the K3 route in favour of the CR1?

Also, if we abandon the K3, do we need to let the London Embassy know? What's the best way to do this considering I'm going to be in the US until April 28th with the wife?

Are there any more fees if we can expect by going the CR1 route, other than interview/medical costs?

I have same dilemma just different embassy. I have seen previous posts saying you can continue with both but if I send the checklist back to the Embassy saying I have all the documents when in fact they are all in USA now just waiting to be sent to the NVC for the CR-1 is that a lie?

I read here that by continuing with both you can get an earlier interview scheduled for the K3 from the embassy and when case is completed with CR-1 at NVC you can ask them if they can change your already scheduled K3 interview to the CR-1.

Fill out the forms and send it. You may get an earlier date for your interview. After u pay IV bill, u don't have to pay anything for the visa purpose. But for the medical, I am not sure.

Blue 123....Please don't think u have lied. Cuz, at the time of interview u will be able to present all the original documents, does not matter if its sent by NVC or carried by u...Regardless the fact u r goin for K3....So, I don't see any lies here as long as I have it and being able to present at the time of interview...

Good Luck...

Sonia

you can switch a K-3 interview to a CR-1 interview...you have to contact the embassy directly and inform them you are abandoning the k-3 and following the cr-1 and being you are already schedualed an interview (providing your case is complete at NVC)...also there is a way to imbed your timelime into your signature as well....good luck
