EL PASO -- A 19-year old female soldier is dead and her husband is in intensive care at Thomason Hospital after a shooting Saturday afternoon at Fort Bliss, a Fort Bliss spokeswoman said.

Fort Bliss spokeswoman Jean Offutt said the shooting occurred around 4 p.m. inside the Fort Bliss Post Exchange.

According to FBI spokeswoman Andrea Simmons, the man went inside the store, shot the soldier, then tried to kill himself.
