and we both know firearms aren't needed, they just needed you to show up and bruce lee their azz.

Hey I defended guns until I realized this ###### is happening over and over and over again. Beyond a coincidence or as six calls it an 'isolated incident'. I realized that if my spouse happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, some psycho freak could kill her.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Here's just one example of the type of vitriol...

One blogger writes:

I can't believe Obama! Obama is a silver tongue dirty snake. Why does this worthless sob want to take away my firearms? The second amendment was put in place as a checks and balance to big government. Which is exactly why Obama wants to take away a persons right to bear arms. The black messiah needs a reality check and this can not be tolerated by law abiding citizens.

....

Another:

No one has a right to take away guns, gun control is a way of dissarming the people so they can't build a resisitence against the gov't.Its your right carry it and if anyone tries to take that away from you don't feel discouraged. They will meet some heavy resistence in the center of the country.I suggest he keeps his agenda in the bi-costal areas, if he wants to avoid a full scale war.

....

And another:

He doesnt feel like buying them himself. I dont think that he could pass the background check, what with his ties to terrorists and all.

....

And another:

The new AG Holder has come out today proposing a renewal of the Assault weapons ban, only permanent this time. People were warned of Obama's real position on the 2nd Amendment. Between bankrupting the Nation and the systematic, piecemeal dismanteling of the Constitution,we may yet see new reasons why the rush on arms sales following the inaguration..... If you don't think him and the liberals as dangerous you have to be blind, stupid or just don't care.

....

This type of extremism parallels the kind of vitriol spewed out by Islamic fundamentalist Clerics towards America.

Those quotes are unreal, but strangely familiar. Some people really are idiots.

if you're gonna talk the talk, then walk the walk and turn your firearms over to the police for disposal.

Boo-Yah has firearms?!? :o Talk about the wrong hands?

He want's firearms banned. I'd like to see a picture (notarized of course) or BY handing his arsenal over to a LEO for destruction to support his posts of the past few days. Failure of this ... well ... nuff said.

Yes I like guns but I am not going to lie or play dumb and pretend that a total ban would not be effective. I have lived under a restrictive system and can say it works. You can own a gun but just not a high-powered multiple-shot gun.

I would do it if everyone else did too. Like in the case of Aus where they had a federal gun buyback. Everyone had to sell their full-auto / semi-auto back to the federal government. After a certain date it became illegal to own one.

What stops some psycho going into a day care and shooting up kids. Or a hospital. Practically anywhere. Now replace his semi-auto with a single shot riffle. Completely different outcome.

I remember going to my first gun show and was shocked at what I could buy. Yet excited at the same time too. But I knew it was not right. Some of the weapons available only the military should be able to buy.

If guns are outlawed, only pigs will have guns.

Get over your hatred of the cops.

you sure overplay that. you think a rifle is ever so deadly. i never knew my semi auto .22 is like an assault rifle!

compare a 12 gauge with double aught buck to any semi auto. the semi auto rifle is a weakling compared to it.

What are you, stupid?

Its simple. You are caught with a gun you go to jail. Anyway a total gun ban is not realistic. A ban on any zillion-shot high-powered weapon is.

Which is backed by stats.

what .. no conviction?!?

Be brave ... bold ... stand up for what you believe.

Now to your gun show comment. Please be specific as to what you could buy that only the military should have. Please include in your answer the action type, how the military is only allowed to have this action type, cosmetic features and numbers of persons hurt by civilian use of these cosmetic features.

These incidents would have happened with or without access to firearms. People that want to kill others out of desperation will do so. The situation with firearms might be more dangerous but they aren't neccesarily more deadly. Tokyo Rampage
