Hey All

My fiance uncle is coming in a couple of weeks for our civil wedding. Now what certificates should he bring from her home country. Does she need the original brith certificate? or a certified one will be ok? photocopy ok? Anything else we should remind uncle to bring to us?

We are about to fill out the papers and go to our checklist...

Please advise

I dnt know what all papers ur wife has now . BUt she has to bring the following at least :

1) original birth certificate

2)Anything that shows she is still have attachments in her home country.I dnt know how you two met and how did it roll towards marriage. But she has to show that she had intentions to go back home and the marriage took place atthe spur of the moment. Assuming she came in a B1/B2 visa as you are posting here a lot has to be shown. As for my case i had to tell my dad to courier me a lot of stuff like - house in mny name, El;ectricity bills in my name, telephone bills in my name, my health insurance still going on, active bank accounts there, share and bonds there etc etc. I still have the courier envelope to show that it was couriered to me from my dad.

3) I mean anything to show her ties to her homeland.

4) yes another thing if your wife takes any medicine tell her uncle to bring it in lots. Prices of medicine in usa is like buying diamonds.

I hope some more experienced people can give you some more tips. Thanks.

When you mean 2, do you mean....1 Original one and 1 certified new one?
