Old Passports for interview?

I came across US embassy in New Delhi, India and i read there about requirements that includes all passports (old and the current), my question is, is this only in India? coz i read in the UAE embassy doesn't specifically mention about bringing along old passports during interview.

Who else here is being required to bring his/her old passports for the interview?

Anyone from uae?

btw,i am being particular about this coz iam not in my homebase so ill know if i have to ask my old passports to be sent to me. B)

It is consulate specific. You need to be reading about the consulate you will use and what their requirements are. Go to their site and download their "packet 3" and it will tell you.

It is consulate specific. You need to be reading about the consulate you will use and what their requirements are. Go to their site and download their "packet 3" and it will tell you.

thank you gary and alla.....i have done browsing a more detailed packet 3 at the US embassy-UAE and Consulate-Dubai but i didnt see any. Only the requirements for interview and like i said, it didn't mention it however reading the New Delhi requirements made me sick-worried .....indeed,it maybe consulate specific. anyway ill search more. bless ya

i (believe) the only requirement i know of is the passport has to be good thru a time of at least six months after the interview date, hopefully someone going thru your embassy will answer

From the question, I perceived (rightly or wrongly) that the OP was asking whether old (expired) passports have to be brought to the visa interview as evidence of previous visits to the U.S. or elsewhere.

Absolutely bring it, even if the consul doesn't ask to see it. You don't want to be caught short with your evidence, and be put on 221(g) or be asked to come back with it. Have it with you, and don't volunteer to show it if it's not asked for.

wow! so it is really a consul to consul basis..... your country has the same requirements as India. Old-expired passports of the beneficiary has to be taken in the interview.

Hi TBoneTX! iam referring to the old passports of the beneficiary (me) if its consul to consul basis or is it a requirement for all USEMs to bring the old-expired passports......base on the answers here, it appears that it is consul to consul decision/or requirements. For instance, here in UAE-it doesnt require old passports to bring during the interview except the current one with 6 mos or more validity period. Whereas, in India plus Taiwan (from bapacker)-the USEM requires old passports to bring.

Just be prepared, just bring along the old ones to the interview with you. No harm to be being prepared.

I was asked to bring my old passport if I have any. But they also stated that if I have lost my old pastport, a record showing my departing and entering my country is required.
