hi! I have some old in IDs here during my college days but I changed my signature when I was in 3rd year college. Is it ok to submit my old IDs even if I changed my signature? My name is not change only my signature.. thanks!!!

I'd say it will be fine to submit the old IDs even if you changed your signature... If you have other old school documents that will show your name, might as well include it.

Good luck and may you finally get your visa!

Thanks for the reply... I have here diploma, transcript of records and I will try to get a certification from my professor and teachers before...

Great! You will be fine then... Best of luck!

Maybe it could help. Try also to secure a certified true copy of your voters registration record. Voters affidavit is a good proof of evidence that you are in the same person who appeared in your NBI clearance. Go to your municipal COMELEC or wherever place you registered and get copies. Your NBI record, passport, school records, and even your CENOMAR should match together.

What they asked you to submit? Follow their instruction and accomplish , you will be fine.

I agree with Haole - get an affidavit from not only the midwife, but from as many people as possible (teachers, school principals, college professors, gov't officals).

The list of items they want, they surely know she can't obtain it all so all they are saying is build a case for yourself.

Do we wish document verification was still around? (not sure DV would have helped, but, see, now they have reason to look more closely)

If the midwife is still alive. In my case, the traditional 'hilot' is already dead. So I ended up showing my baptismal certificate.

Good Luck!

Everything will be fine girl! Just provide the documents they need.. :star: .. if there are documents that are really impossible to get, provide a written statement explaining why is it impossible to get. I just got off the phone with my friend who is in Michigan now. She had her interview under K-1 also last year and it seems like she's got the same experience like you had. Just a little smudge in one of her documents and they got so suspicious and they required documents that were really impossible for her to get.. they talked to a lawyer about it, had her make a written statement of the reasons why its impossible for her to get the documents they're requesting and the lawyer notarized it, she submitted it to the embassy. After 3 weeks she got her visa. Hopefully same thing will happen to you.. :star: . Keep the faith and act upon it. As long as your conscience is clean and you have proofs that it is, there's nothing to worry about. Good luck! ;)

Abby, Mona and I are praying for you and it was a pleasure to get to meet you. I know that it is difficult right now, just keep faith that God will lead you through this setback. Just gather all you can from the list you showed me. The other posters are correct it is not a denial, they want you to prove your case. And yes the Embassy will be hard on honest people because they also deal with the "not so honest" people. It is not fair or right but it is the way they have to do things to protect the US Government and also the applicants. As we talked the day of your interview, you did everything right at the interview, You stood up for yourself during the questioning by the CO and defended your case well. Don't worry Abby you will have your visa. Just collect all you can and be as complete as possible then put it in God's hands. Mona is here for you if you need to talk you haveher number and can call anytime.

I don't know how it happened, but we are now under AR. We were so careful to collect and submit everything that was required, we even obtained more than one copy of many of the required documents. Things were going great at the interview laughing and reading chat logs and looking at vacation pix, Then the CO at window 27 (white female) saw a smudge on the NBI clearance and said, where did you get this?

Abby: I got it at the NBI office in CDO Ma'am

CO: (looking at the document with a magnifying glass) this is a fake, now where did you get it?(calling 2 other people over see it)

Abby:I swear to god ma'am, I got it in the NBI office in CDO.

question repeats like a broken record many more times.

CO: Why is your BC late registered?

Abby: because my mom thought the midwife was the one who was supposed to file that, but when I needed my BC to register for college, I found out that midwife never filed it. therefore my mom had to file.

CO: I think you are trying to fake your identity. I think you have been married, and will need to get an annulment.

Abby: Ma'am, I've never been married before why should I get an annulment?

Co: You're under oath right now so I suggest that you tell me the truth.

Abby: Yes ma'am, I'm telling the truth.

CO: just tell me the truth and I will approve you case

Abby: I am telling the truth, I have never been married, and I am not faking my identity.

Co: if you submit fake documents you will be banned from ever entering the united states.

Abby: I know that ma'am

Co: just wait in the lobby for your number.

Abby: thank you ma'am.

Needless to say, she was handed a white slip and her passport from window 37. the paper lists several things some of which are not possible.

All old ID's, New NBI with a letter of explanation from the office of NBI. The Office of NBI says that a letter of explanation is only given to criminals or those who have something that needs explanation on the NBI clearance, a smudge or ink spill does not warrant an explanation laughed the lady at the NBI office but she did replace the NBI clearance and even stamped it with the NBI seal.

new Cenomar, Voters affidavit , Hospital records from pregnancy or birth. (not possible either)

So my question is, what should she do about the NBI explanation and the hospital records that do not exist?

Should she write a letter to the embassy explaining that she has never been married nor ever been pregnant? or are these trick questions designed to trip up the people who are trying to commit fraud? She is still too upset or she would be posting this herself.

did her consular officer look like kristy kenney(manila us embassy ambassador), an old lady?she was my consular officer. i had my interview last dec. 17,2008 at first she was laughing looking through our pictures and reading our chats, but after she saw my birth cert. suddenly her facial expression changed.. she asked me why i was late to register. i told her the same thing your fiancee told her but she didnt believe me, then she asked me to submit my old ids,all school records pre 2002 that was the year before i registered my b-cert. to nso and medical/hospital records from pregnancy or birth. so i submitted only 1 i.d that has a date before 2002,i went to my elementary and high school to get my records and luckily i kept all my diplomas.i had no hospital records because i was born at home so i get a notarized affidavit from my mom, my father some friends and from the wife of the HILOT because the hilot who attended to my birth had passed away. i submitted my baptismal and the photocopy of the baptismal book from church. take your time dont be in a hurry and get all her records, notarized affidavits and id's i.e old school ids voters id sss, drivers license. just submit everything she had keep praying and soon she will be in your arms..

P.S

after 1 week i submitted all the rest of my documents i received my visa in hand and now im here in america
