Did you get something explaining why you don't need a letter of explanation? You don't want to get caught in the middle of two bureaucracies, and make another trip back and forth for nothing.

Actually that was my goof, I misunderstood what my Rhea said, the USEM didn't request anything from NBI such as an explanation letter, but my Rhea simply stated to me that she wanted to get something like that. The slip from the USEM only asks for a new NBI clearance (and lots of other things) but does not make mention of a letter of explanation.

She has already gotten many of the documents requested, I will make a list once I get home from work this afternoon.

Thanks everyone

abbynorm2 and abbynorm1, you can check sheremae's posts about what happened to their K-1 visa. It'll help you not to loose hope. :star:CLICK HERE

I am glad that you posted this, at least, I know that abbynorm1 is getting support from you. I met her during the interview. She is a young, nice lady. It doesn't look like she could ever do such a thing. I really feel sorry for her. I believe you'll get over this. God bless you.

She always has and always will have my love and support. She is upset thinking that she was unable to make it, but I keep telling her that she has not been denied, just delayed a bit. Yes, She is a sweet young lady from way out in the providence of Mindanao, A place I wouldn't mind living.

I would have posted this earlier, but I wanted to wait until she was ready. I think that things like this need to be posted so that others can read about it and be better prepared. I am quite certain that we will get through this, she is the one who is really depressed.

Thanks. Oh, and Congrats on your Visa.

This can be a trying time so give them what they want and keep the faith. It seems from our experience and other posts the female CO's are the worst.

hi, not sure if this will help, but I was watching news earlier... and the National Statistics office was mentioned about K1 visa. I heard the news caster say that NSO issues "Certificate of Singleness", perhaps that will help too. Not sure if you can get this from NSO Main office or you have to go back all the way to CDO. This should clear up the charges of being married before.

Regards to you! Hope you get your visa soon.

i wonder what the smudge looked like.........

Here is an example. I found this NBI clearance on the net and drew the smudges into the light box to show the difference. to me it looks like ink from the printer it is 2 or 3 thin lines just as shown here. but they are a lot straighter, no longer than 1.25 inches.

You think they are trying to punish American men for looking elsewhere for a woman? LOL

I think you are referring to CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage). That is a requirement for K-1 Visa.

Tell your fiancee not to worry... if she did not fake the documents , there is nothing to worry about. They just need more clarification about the NBI clearance , it is standard way of holding approval once they found something questionable or not clear. Just comfort her and give a moral support. Good luck!

You both will be ok. Just give them what they want and before long you two will be together. This is just a minor roadblock.

That's the way I see it. But it is a little difficult to get her to cheer up.

I hear you brother.. I understand perfectly well.

hi! I have some old in IDs here during my college days but I changed my signature when I was in 3rd year college. Is it ok to submit my old IDs even if I changed my signature? My name is not change only my signature.. thanks!!!

I'd say it will be fine to submit the old IDs even if you changed your signature... If you have other old school documents that will show your name, might as well include it.

Good luck and may you finally get your visa!
