How often do you check your mailbox?

I know everybody's waiting for either your Biometrics appointment or your new shiny card in the mail.

But how desperate are you?

I think I am pretty bad. I keep looking at my window just to see if the mailman is on his way to drop off my mail! I can't say there's fixed time when my mail arrives... because the mailman shows up different times during the week.

Maybe putting some cookies next to my mailbox everyday will make him come early... cheers!

I check my mailbox everyday I get off work Mon-Fri. Saturday I check it at 5pm. Our mailman usually comes around 3:30ish but can't get to it right away till I get off work. I do log in to the USCIS case status and check processing time every few hours over the Internet. I'm frequent to this site about 10 times a day  .

On a scale of 1 - 10, 1 = not desperate at all and 10 = extremely desperate, I think I'm a 8.5.

Hi Cesarestrella,

Did you say your receipt notice on your NOA(I-751) is 03/25/2008 when you had mailed the package on 03/20/2009? If not, then pls update the year on your timeline(removing condition section.) Thanx.

I was obsessive about AOS but removing conditions will be different. Not nearly as stressfull as my life is not on hold like it was with AOS/EAD.

Hi Everyone,

For me, "being desperate" is an "understatement".....

On a scale from 1 to 10, I think I'm at a "20", as I've been waiting for a decision on my I-751 and for my actual 10yr green card for the last 8 months or so, and am expecting something soon this month.

In terms of checking up about this, I've been doing the following:

-Regular snail mail/USPS : 2 - 3 times a day (in the afternoon, as our mail doesn't usually come until then). It's good though, that I get to go outside for some fresh air when I check the mail. I swear, if I don't hear anything else from the USCIS by this week, I'll probably go over to the post office early in the morning and pick up my mail there instead of waiting all day impatiently for it. Oh well, in the meantime, I've been "keeping myself entertained" by starting a "mini- collection" of bills, junk mail, letters, magazines, samples, etc., that who knows, I might be able to use someday just in case for immigration purposes too (lol..I'm still on "collecting evidence mode" for an RFE, interview, US Citizenship, etc.)

-USCIS CRIS : 1 - 2 times a day (no updates yet, since 3/6/09, when they transferred my case to the CSC on 3/2/09)

-E-mail: 2 - 3 times a day (I check my e-mail anyways, but check it more often now because of updates from CRIS)

-VJ: 3 - 5 times a day (for any other updates from other VJers, other news, and just for the fun of it as I like it here)

Lol..am I "overly obesssed" or what? But when one's life is "in the hands of the USCIS", they can't help but feel this way....

At least it gives me something "constructive" (yeah, right) to do, while I'm still waiting...

AntandD,

We are pretty much on the same time scale- similar wait time, similar transfer time, similar mail/email/VJ checking time....maybe we'll both get approvals at the same time (today!) :star:

See my timeline for all previous dates!

Naturalization:

6/28/09: Mail N-400 to Texas

7/6/09: NOA1

7/24/09: Biometrics

10/08/09: Interview

11/21/09: Receive oath date

01/22/10: Oath Date

With thanks to all the helpful people who made this journey slightly more bearable.

Hi Shakysgirl,

No surprise there really....as like you said, "we're pretty much on the same time scale, similar wait time, same transfer time, similar mail/email/VJ checking time"....

Oh, and we both live in NYS too, from what I've read on our VJ profiles/timelines, (though I'm on the Western part of the state and you're on the Eastern part of the state)! What a co-incidence, indeed! Hmmm...maybe we can meet up sometime in-person too? I always like meeting other VJers in-person, regardless of where they are from and/or in now!

Hope you get your approval sometime soon (possibly today or sometime this upcoming week) too!

Meanwhile I'll keep everyone else on VJ updated too if I ever receive anything from the USCIS....

Actually it's my 15-month old baby who keeps her regular time vigil beside our mail slot everyday. Whether it's junk mails, letters, catalogs or magazines, she loves getting mail
