hi everyone, i have a question with the joint sponsor. does the joint sponsor have to live in the same state as the petitioner? i live in florida and my joint sponsor live in california. is that going to be ok? please help :unsure:

there is no mandatory requirement for same state residence.... however, the only one who can say it is OK is the adjudicator

You are OK.

"A joint sponsor can be any U.S. citizen, U.S. national, orlawful permanent resident who is at least 18 years old,domiciled in the United States, or its territories or possessions,and willing to be held jointly liable with the petitioner for thesupport of the intending immigrant. A joint sponsor does nothave to be related to the petitioning sponsor or the intendingimmigrant".

02/17/2009: I-130 NOA2: Approved in 210 days from NOA1 date

I-129F (K-3):

08/11/2008: NOA1

02/17/2009: I-129F NOA2: Approved in 190 days from NOA1 date

<not pursuing I-129F petition further but NVC forwarded case to Consulate on 02/24/2009>
