I just got my EAD card on the mail, I see that there's only an Alien # on it.

Can I work anywhere with just this card?

What if they ask for my SSN ?

I'm not legal here anymore (My Student visa expired) but I married an US citizen and We'll have our interview 2 weeks from now.

What can I do ? Can I work ? Can I get Drivers License ? How to do all that !?

Thanks

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

EAD is your authorization to work but in addition you do also NEED a SSN... Now that you have EAD you are eligible to apply for SSN

YMMV

So,

I just need to take the EAD card and my I-94 to the SS place and ask for one?

On the paper that I need to fill for ask for it (FORM SS-5) I need to choose from:

- U.S. Citizen

- Legal Alien Allowed To Work

- Legal AlienNot AllowedToWork(See InstructionsOnPage2)

- Other (SeeInstructions OnPage2)

the problem is that my F1 visa is expired for over a year, so I'm illegal here. So ... which option I need to choose ? I'm kind confuse on that !

Legal Alien ALLOWED to work... Your EAD is your authorization...
