what were the circumstances of you coming to the united states? how did you come to live here, family?

I came here through the Diversity Lottery program http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1322.html . I don't have any family member here, never being married before... I dated on and off while I was in college and non of those girls were what I was looking for, they were just wild and I didn't think they will be good mothers of my children (I'm not here to judge), I may be wrong because.. after I finish school got a job bought a house got my Citizenship decided its time for me to do the right thing and get married. guess what last Christmas I went to Morocco and got married with a girl that I never met before, it was arranged by my family.. My coworkers were lol at me when I got back married they told how can you make a life decision so fast they told me I'm crazy..what ever I told them love will come after.. that's my life story. let me know if you want to know more about me? what was the reason behind your question if you don't mind?

WOW people really do obtain visas through the lottery program.. I was curious to know how you went about that process and why they chose you.

It sounds like you were a perfect candidate...you are very ambitious and have succeeded. PROPS TO YOU!

So your marriage was arranged. It is not all that unfamiliar. I know they still do that but I always wondered how people "really" feel marrying someoone they dont know or even love at that time of the arrangement. I mean I am sure it is something that your family has encouraged but can they really know what is best for you and after having spent so much time in America, is America and American women all that bad? Couldnt you have just of well met a respectable Arabic wife here? I guess with the differences in cultures and lifestyles it just is safer and more compatiable to marry someone who shares all the same ways and upbringing as you. Being very young, inexperienced and sheltered does have its setbacks but I guess you are reassured that she is chaste and from a good family.

Good Luck

Just rambling.

To answer your question about the lottery, every year millions of people apply from all over the world exept some countries like India UK Canada, because they already have too many people from those contries in the US. the purpose behind the lottery is to create deversity in the US so no minority will dominate(Mixicans are growing fast thats why they are not part of that program). some of the requirment are high school or up and clean criminal record.

In 2002 almost 15 million people applyed and they chose 55000, Morocco share was about 4000 if I'm not mistaking. for more Information check NVC web.

I dated a white girl her name his Sandra for three years, and we love each other, we almost got married. we had some problems and we both were stuborn (my way or the highway), she dcouldn't graduate from school, she was always brook because che couldn't keep a job, she wants to live a high life that she can't afford. In the other hand i was totaly the opposite, I to helped her may times( I bought her a honda CRV for $7000),I let her live with me for free for almost a year, when I finaly got tired of all that. we brook up then she came back then we brook up again and it was the last one. a month lather she send me a letter asking me to forgive and be her best friend since we couldn't make it, i told her that's fine because that was going to make it easy on us since we were in love. during that year we were friend we got alone very good, we travel we cook for each other...during that period she always tell me when are you going to Morocco to buy a wife, I keep telling her very soon or next year or as soon as find one, and though she was ok with it the whole time. last cristmas she took me to the airport to fligh to Morocco, when I got there my dad ask me when i;m getting married? I told any time. he asked me if i have a girl in mind? I told him No, he was well I got something for you. what and he told me about my wife, i was like that's fine, i asked my sisters about her they told me she is a good girl very modest, beautiful... i was like dad let me talk to her first, my dad talk to her dad and arrange a date at her house for us, after I saw her and talk to her for the first munite I said in my mind this is the wife that I dreamed about. I was scared before I met her I couldn't sleep the night before, but after met her i felt so much better, talking to her i felt peace and simplisity, she was just very innocent. I called Sandra the next day to tell her what happened since she was my best friend, Oh my got she got mad at me and call me all kind of thing :devil: me and sandra didn't talk after that and she didn't pick me up from the Airport like she suppose to, she borowed $1700 from she told me you are not going to get it back.

I was like explain to me why you are mad at me you are my best friend not my girl friend, and she said you were planing to get married and you didn't tell me.

this story keeps getting better and better.

so like, if the girl you married had been in an on and off relationship with some guy in morocco for 3 years, but then they had decided they were just gonna be best friends and she still had contact with him before she decided to marry you, would you have been alright with that? it wouldn't have been like a barrier between you and her getting married would it?

She was obviously still in love with you Adam. She was just agreeing to be "friends" hoping you would change your mind and want to marry her. You can never truly be just friends with someone you were in love with.

I told my wife everything, and she told me that Sandra was in love with me and ask me why you I didn't marry her. I told her if I did I wouldn't be with you!!!

A little bit, she learned it at high school for three years, but she didn't use it for for the last three years at the college, her major is Islamic Studies.

she can understand english but she is not comfortable speaking it.
