Well my husband is here now, but.... when I was waiting for him I got a 2nd job to help pay bills, save money and bcz my mind went crazy if I didnt have something productive to do. I definitely got depressed and didnt want to talk to family or friends so I worked 2 jobs 6 days a week.

I can't work a second job because every five weeks I go On Call for a week on my actual job and they can call me anytime. its tough

The husband and I were apart for 4 years, so we have a little experience when it comes to waiting. You have 2 choices - either let it drive you insane, or conciously chose to be patient and wait. It's a lot easier if you chose the second option.

Get a hobby. Learn to cook her favorite foods. Take up a sport. Get a pet. If you chose to live your life, inshaAllah the time will go a lot easier.

Well I wasn't too social before I met my husband, so nothing has really changed. :-P If I'm not at work, I'm doing the usual running errands, cleaning, cooking, whatever. If I'm not doing that, then I'm online with my husband. We spend most of our free time online with each other, even if we are not talking. :-P I really haven't had a chance to get bored, but I do miss him a lot. Can't wait for the day he is here!

I agree with lots of the other comments I go to school and then my training site and am usually home by 6 and then I take a nap, eat dinner, and talk to him in the evenings for a couple hours, do homework then go to bed. On weekends or when i have free time, i usually think of things we are going to do here and fix up our room. I bought a whole new dresser, desk, bed, and I still don't know where he's going to put his clothes lol. As far as our talking schedule-some mornings, calls when i get out of school, evenings. My husband uses his time and works out and is planning for our summer together in 2 months! I can't wait to see him again...

Oh yeah me too. My closet is packed and my dresser is packed. I look at it and think what am I going to do when he gets here??? LOL. Thankfully he doesn't have much right now.

How in the world did you manage to stay together while apart for four years? Give us some tips!

Starting May 11, I start my last internship, called my residency; just the mere thought of his horror that will happen soon is all that I think about at this time. Of course I wish my husband was here, but even with him here, I still have to do this residency, it suckkkkkkkkkkkkkkksssssssssss. :crying: So I am only taking a free study with a doctor I have never met over the net, it is rocking. I wish I could do this for the rest of my life. Most times if I am getting in that bad stage of omg I haven't seen my husband in so long, bad thoughts, I immediately go to day dreaming. Like if I have a billion dollars what would I do, oh the possibilities. Try it see if it won’t ease your mind.

Honestly, it was as simple as making the choice to not let it consume me. I started to run, finished my college degree, and got a job. I really should have learned to cook, but didn't figure that out until later lol.

Oh, I visited egypt 3 times, but there was a stretch where we went 18 months without seeing each other. Airfare gets pricey yeah?
