Anyone here an Engineering graduate and took a license exam here in the US or took Masters in Information Technology? I just want to know if anyone gone through the process.. though i Googled for some information this morning about FE and PE tests for engineering. How would the tests go and what are the required documents? I just want to support whatever she would want, take on-line course work so she could take an exam and get license on either of the degree she finished.

Thank you.

If she wants to take masters here in the US, she should take GRE exam. That's the path my friends took for them to take their masters and PhDs here in the US.

If she has another specialization or job experience, she could take a professional exam here in the US. I'm scheduled to take my Professional certification here in the US. I was able to qualify due to my job experience.

Some VJ member are taking PE and FE test.

But i would suggest that she takes her masters here in the US rather than taking PE and FE.

My input is based on my limited knowledge. Used to work as an engineer in the philippines under US business group. Most of my engineering colleagues from the US have Masters and PhDs.

She has to be competitive.

Hello..what engineering is she? I am a U.S. Citzn Computer Engineer Grad from the philippines..If she likes she can take the PE exam.. go to the NCEES website..they have a sched of taking it depending on your location..where in the states?... www.NCEES.com or google it... I will not be taking the April I will be taking the Next one sched in Oct.2009.. She doesn't have to get a PHD... there are companies like entry-level positions which will train her for the IT position.. or she can take some software training class like Java which is very much needed in the IT Engineering field...

I know it seems difficult most big companies ask for Security Clearances which can only obtained by U.S. Citzns... but she can apply in companies like Texas Instruments or Accenture.. where she can get in without security clearance.. We have the Women's Networking Group in Acceture..

Good Luck:)
