Will I cause any issues if I leave the US?

My husband and I have been married for a little over a year now. I got pregnant last year and just had a miscarriage last month when I was in my 2nd trimester. This was our 2nd pregnancy loss. After we lost our baby, he just hasn't been the same person. I feel horrible that I cannot seem to give him a child.

My question is, we filed for his inital paperwork just before I lost our baby. I am a born US citizen. He has already gone for his biometerics appointment. We are currently going through counseling and working on our marriage. I was invited to go overseas alone for a few weeks this summer to visit some friends and I have never been out of the country. I have a valid passport but I've never used it before. Will I cause any trouble for my husband or any trouble at all if I take this vacation? I just need to get my thoughts right and take a vacation. Do I need to call USCIS to let them know I am going on vacation?

Good luck on getting your thoughts together. You can leave the US anytime you want as your are a citizen. You need though to be prepared to come back if your husband has an AOS interview while you are out of the country as you would need to be here for that.

You can leave the country as you are the US Citizen, your husband has to remain in the country due to the pending adjustment of status. You will have to come back early from your trip if the AOS interview is scheduled prior to your return.
