Does anyone know where I can find a list of hotels in NYC that still have designated smoking rooms? I tried googling it but maybe a list doesn't exist. Any travel agents in the audience today?

There was a bit on the news the other night about unlicensed hotels. That would probably be the best bet :P

You mean ones with an hourly rate?

No there was one of those silly Fox expose scandal stories about a guy who was refusing to allow New York Residents to stay in his hotel, because of some local by-laws that allow a person to basically squat there for next to nothing, because the place didn't have "hotel" status it was classed as residential.

I have been looking too! Its funny you posted this. It has been VERY difficult. We will be there at the end of May and my husband smokes. I have seen the Days Inn on Broadway and 94th Street (I think) Close to Columbia University. I may be staying at the Club Quarters in Midtown and they do have some smoking rooms available at THAT location. Good luck!

Yeah I have seen a few here and there that have them but I just wondered if there was a comprehensive list somewhere so I didn't have to hen peck all the hotels. I bet there is somewhere like on a smokers message board or something...if those exist.

All Marriott and Westins are nonsmoking only. That's about all I know. I found the Grand Hyatt (which quite a few have been winning for $120-140 range/night on priceline according to betterbidding.com and they do offer smoking rooms but I guess I'll have to look and see what the other choices are in case we win a different one. I think the Doubltree has smoking rooms too but they're too expensive for the time we're going.

Thanks guys!

The Milford Plaza Hotel has smoking floors - it's on 8th Avenue, right in the theatre district. I remember it from when I was looking for hotels online for my trip last year.

I don't think it is one of the better hotels, but I don't think it is one of the worst.

we stayed at Days Inn and they had a few smoking rooms (my mom smokes)

Wow I never thought of the Days Inn. Pretty cheap and really all you need is a bed there since who the heck stays in the room all day when you're in NYC.

I want to go to a play since he's never been to one. I also want to visit whatever the section that has a lot of Egyptians. Little Egypt? I dunno...I have to research that. Would be cool to get koshari on the street again!

I've stayed there, it's not too bad.
