How has your life changed since Same sex marriage was legalized? I especially like the answer of the old lady at 4:25

:lol::thumbs:

####### were those Muslims saying?

They weren't Muslim....they are Sikhs. You live in NY and have never seen a Sikh?

What's really happening is that liberals want more liberal voters, be they gays or illegals, anything that will keep their destructive policies on a roll and give them more power.

I don't see how legalizing gay marriage would effectively increase votes for the Democratic Party. Most homosexuals already vote that way, while a few here and there may side with the Republicans. If anything, I'd see legalizing gay marriage as a positive endeavor for Republicans, much more than Democrats.

As I said, Democrats already get the "gay vote." I'm sure there are quite a few homosexuals whose politics run similar to that of the Republicans; however, since the Democrats are the ones rallying in favor of gay marriage, those potential votes towards Republicans are getting thrown at the Democrats.

In reference to illegals... they shouldn't be allowed to vote. I realize what "should" doesn't always work out to "what is," but if permanent residents can't vote and they're here legally, why should illegal aliens? I highly doubt that any sane politician -- Democrat or Republican -- truly wants to give rights associated with permanent residency and citizenship to individuals who've entered the country illegally.

youre a politician. you dont answer the questions asked of you. ah, well...

She never has. She talks in circles all the time.

gotcha.

this thread has really been interesting for me to read. living in a really liberal city (burlington, vermont. its great here. come for a visit!), i forget that there is a lot of homophobia (call it what you want, but thats what it is) in this country.

i got so worked up this morning i sat down and made a couple of signs that say 'support gay marriage in vermont (L) ' and posted them on my second floor porch for passersby to see. i felt like i needed to do something public to make people think about this issue. i will also be writing to my governor to tell him how i feel on the subject and ask him to respect the majority opinion on gay marriage in vermont. and writing to my state representatives to tell them how i would like them to vote if in fact there is a veto overturning the recently passed gay marriage bill.

so, thanks, barza, for getting me riled up and sparking me into action!

I'm waaay ahead of you. I've been riled up and in action against the things I oppose for a long time.

I'm amazed by the bigotry directed at me in the name of tolerance toward gays. I'vre been labeled a homophobe, anti-gay, assumed to think being gay is a choice, and had my views tossed of as religion based.

I'm not a homophobe. I have gay friends and relatives.

I'm not anti-gay. I'm anti-gay marriage.

I'm not a Bible thumper, nor a Christian. I haven't mentioned religion as an element of my opposition. Some of you have attributed it to me, but not I.

I don't discriminate against gays in hiring. The man who prepares my seminars for me is gay. He does a very good job and I pay him well.

Is there some knee-jerk reaction that requires demonization of people that oppose your liberal views on this issue that makes you produce such dismissive shorthand characterizations of them? To me, that implies that there is a groupthink basis to your position, and no real reason to think it thru.

Only with you, probably due to your incredibly abrasive personality, the sense of superiority that you emanate, a planet-sized ego, and just because you really, really piss people off.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Whatever you may think of anyone's personality, when you show your own intolerance it's your choice to do so. The only person you can control is yourself. Your efforts to control others are wasted. That's why I don't bother commenting on your personality. It's not worth my time or attention.

You fail to explain your views or answer any questions about them. This leaves us to speculate as to your motives. I guess thats the way you wanted it so that you could play victim.

It's not a stretch to think that religion plays a part in your reason for opposition, based ont he quote below.

I'm sick to death of the mindless and godless interfering in matters of law, and calling it compassion. When you don't believe in God, you'll believe in anything. . . like gay rights.

The interesting about that is, without realizing it, you took the very same tone to me.

You're welcome anyway.
