Yeah, the media really thinks that the banning guns issue is more important than accuracy - their agenda is so obvious! Blow me with a feather, I should have known!

What is probably true though, is that the media do report events in such a way so as to 'hype' the intensity, not because they have a 'secret' agenda but because of the obvious one, the need for high ratings. Wouldn't you know?

2nd Amendment

Why don't you just go back to Australia? You guys already gave up your freedom to big government and socialism, don't ruin the last country where individual freedom still means something. Gun control is not about guns, it's about control. And 2nd amendment is not about just guns,it's about People that can defend themselves against crime and tyranny. Events like these are tragic, but if more honest people were armed the shootouts like that would have much less victims. Criminals will always commit crimes and police cannot be everywhere!

Again, 2nd amendment is NOT about hunting!!! It's about armed self defense against crime and tyranny. And please learn just a little about guns before you spew your ignorance around - there are no such thing as low or medium or high powered rifle!!! Let alone the fact that shooter didn't have any rifles at all - he had 2 handguns - 9mm and 45ACP which are not high or low powered, but 2 most common pistol calibers which been around for most of 20th century

Really? I lived in Binghamton for 10 years and my family is still there. I actually volunteered as an ESL tutor at the American Civic Association for 3 years on and off. This happened across the street from my alma mater for God's sake!

How is your house price doing? Mine properties fell about 0.8% in Melbourne last year. Still worth over $650K each . Actually I could sell up there and buy any house in NoVA, in cash. So big government not only works but actually has discredited and embarrassed your big government is bad theory. Tell me one thing you would like compare with Aus and our big government that your little government is doing better? Come on One thing. Conservative vs Conservative. Not one Australian bank has failed. Actually still delivering a profit.

It's just a question of time before Australia starts hurting too. Europe has bigger governments than Australia and they are already in much deeper ####### than US is. Nothing good ever comes from the government, period. Seriously, if that's how you feel, just take your spouse and go to Australia! If life is so much better there you should just move back there. Guess what - I'm not really a redneck - I grew up in Russia, I speak 3 languages and have a masters degree in egineering and a professional job. But I do own and carry guns and I belive it's my civic duty to take respinsibilty for my safety and not rely on the government.
