The people on the phone line at both Tier 1 and Tier 2 (useful shorthand, I like it!) have always been courteous and professional sounding with me. I just get frustrated with Tier 1, because my case status is invisible online and I know that these people will be looking at the same flawed online system as myself. I always try to politely interrupt them, but they insist on going through the same script. When I have just told them that I am calling concerning an I-129F application for K1 fiancee visa, must they immediately turn around and ask "are you calling concerning xxxxx" - an entirely different visa type? They always ask if it has been more than 30 days since my last call, and I always have to go through this explanation that the Tier 2 person said I could check back with them at any time. At Tier 2, they have promised to have my case status visible online, but they have yet to deliver on that promise.

Bottom line, they all seem nice over the phone, but I cannot say they have been particularly helpful for me.

05/04/09 -- K1 visa, NOA-1

09/18/09 -- K1, NOA-2

01/26/09 -- Interview passed in Moscow

03/02/10 -- POE, JFK airport

05/23/10 -- Wedding!

11/16/10 -- 2-year green card approved

04/01/13 -- 10-year green card approved

11/23/13 -- N-400 mailed

Every time I called USCIS, without exception, I found the people I spoke with to be

  1. Polite.
  2. Useless.
The Tier 1 reps are contractor personnel who are contractually obligated to stick to the scripts slavishly. The Tier 2 people are actual Immigration Officers, but considering that the entire agency is a useless, incompetent joke, why would the telephone agents be anything different? This is the same agency, remember, that approved several of the 9/11 hijackers' adjustment of status applications—in March 2002.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Hello , Everyone! A bit of information:

I went to Europe couple times this summer to meet with my fiancee and on both occasions took pictures and saved all the supporting docs such as boarding passes, restaurant bills, hotel reservations etc etc etc. Made copies and sent to VSC as additional docs to be attached to my file. Usually USCIS don't reply to such correspondence if this is not a reply to specific RFE. This weekend I received a letter from VSC acknowledging the receipt of recent correspondence. But no touch on the system. Called my attorney, he was surprised. He never heard of such letters. and again told me that USCIS is a bunch of lazy incompetent arseholes who don't know what they doing and have no system to their approval process. Its all wait and guess game. Any ideas? Why no touch? Why the letter to the second attachment but not first one? Why ? Why ? Why?......Input appreciated

Well, TomandHongyan, maybe this will be a good week for both of us.

And I heard that too, that certain employees were allowed to bring home cases and work at their own pace, due to size limitations at the facility. No idea if this is still the case or not, but I can't imagine any other scenario that would have an employee logging files on a Saturday or Sunday.
