Well, I just called the USCIS and was asked questions that had nothing to do with what I was calling for (waste of time). The young lady was obviously reading from a script...so disappointing. Then she proceeded to read the little blip from the USCIS website, and I told her I was reading along with her....what I need is any other info that they might have or be able to obtain about my case. "NO ma'am, noone can help you."

Then she looked up the processing time, told me I haven't reached the 5 month mark yet, but that I was welcome to call back in 15 days because they update on the 15th of the month? Not sure what they update, but anyway.

I then asked her why someone who filed in May might get approved before me, or why someone in april might get approved before someone in march. She jumbled a little, then told me everyone's case is different. Then I told her, it doesn't get simpler than mine!

All in all, it was a total waste of time. To be honest, I feel sorry for the people that work there...I can imagine how many times a day they probably get cussed out. I had to restrain myself. Maybe I should of picked a day to call when I felt a bit better.

I hope everyone is having a good day!

That's the point at which you ask to speak to an Immigration Officer. The Tier I customer service reps are just contractor personnel who literally have access to no more information than what you can see on the USCIS website. If you escalate to Tier II, the reps are actual USCIS immigration officers. They can (sometimes, not always) see information in their system that is not showing up on CRIS and hence is not accessible to Tier I CSRs. Ask to speak to an immigration officer, and politely insist when they try to dissuade you.

Then she looked up the processing time, told me I haven't reached the 5 month mark yet, but that I was welcome to call back in 15 days because they update on the 15th of the month? Not sure what they update, but anyway.

The 15th of each month is when USCIS posts "updated" processing times for its service centers and offices. I put "updated" in quotes because the figures are a month and a half old when they post them. For example, the dates on the site right now were posted August 13, and reflect the processing time as of June 30th. Real current, eh?

I then asked her why someone who filed in May might get approved before me, or why someone in april might get approved before someone in march. She jumbled a little, then told me everyone's case is different. Then I told her, it doesn't get simpler than mine!

All in all, it was a total waste of time. To be honest, I feel sorry for the people that work there...I can imagine how many times a day they probably get cussed out. I had to restrain myself. Maybe I should of picked a day to call when I felt a bit better.

Yeah... in the end, it usually is useless. USCIS is accountable to no one—they process cases in whatever order they please, and it's rare that even congressmen or senators can wield any influence there, let alone the lowly "customer." That being said, I always felt sorry for their CSRs too. It can't be easy trying to placate hurt, unhappy, impatient people all day.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Have you tried to e-mail the VSC follow up? I'm trying that now to see if that works. I think that bypasses the call center people.

Good luck, but I doubt that'll work—supposedly that's only for escalation after you've gone 30 days without hearing anything on a service referral request made via the call center. Unless you have a referral request number and it actually is more than 30 days old, I suspect you'll get a form letter rejection.

But by all means, good luck. You'll have people lined up to buy you drinks if it actually works :)

Stephen you know so much about this...I'm amazed! You could make alot of money helping people do this stuff! Seriously! :D

Anyway, I think I'm going to call again tomorrow and ask for an immigration officer as you suggested. Thank you for taking the time to type all that info...I really appreciate it!

Tina&Roland, no, I haven't sent them an email...but she did ask me if I wanted to set up an infopass appointement...which is 2 hours from here...so, no I don't...haha. Let us know what kind of response you get via email.

Just one last thing to make everyone laugh...after she recited to me the number and type of petition that I had submited, she asked me if I was married?!?!? :jest::bonk:

Well, I suppose that's one way for CIS to reduce their backlog! "Petitioner is ineligible to apply for immigration benefit for an alien fiance as she indicated to the customer service rep that she is already married."

Well as of today i am 5 months along, and i don't mean with child, as I would be rich if I could bear a child. I will be calling tomorrow and thanks for all of the information on who to talk to. If I do get anyone of some importance I will ask them about people getting approved in May when there are many of March and April that hasn't been approved and they are sending approval after approveal for May.
