So apparently my VJ subscriptions have had a hissy fit because i have missed over 5 pages of conversation that was never emailed to me :( damnit.

Just a quick update.

I arrived in the USA on tuesday for yet another 3 month "holiday" and had a heck of a time clearing Boarder security and Customs, I got to be dragged into the back room and questioned (it was exactly like that tv show...). The whole process took just shy of 2 hours to get from the plane to actually clearing customs :(

But I am here safe and sound for what i hope is my last visit. At this stage I have a ticket home for the 27th of October, however if everything goes well then the likelihood is that I will fly home earlier to enable me to be back here for good by thanksgiving.

Our due date from the court rolls around on the 18th (next Tuesday) so here is hoping that this may finally be, after literally 12 months since our original file, 5 months since the 2nd and 30 days since the 3rd filing.

It is crazy to see everyone putting together information for the interview... I have had a year of waiting and I am still yet to start! I have a draw full of ####### at home that is full of everything I need to print off, just haven't gotten around to doing in. To be honest I am hoping they are going to take one look at our file at the interview and just tell me I'm approved, but some how I have a sinking feeling it will be a very long and painful interview.

Hope everyone is still waiting in good moods, can't wait too see the NOA2's start rolling in soon

Mara, I'm so sorry to hear about the issues at the border. I nearly lost it with my round of eighty questions at the counter itself last time. I can't imagine two hours of that! *hug* The one good thing for you is that customs is after arriving, at least. If they decide to give me that kind of struggle, that's all still before I get to the airport. Weeee delays! Haha.

Hopefully we'll be hearing you dance for joy within the next couple of weeks and you'll have one final crossing to deal with.

I find that, everytime the distance, or my job, or random stresses that I can't find an escape to, doing something productive with all of this gets my head straight. Knowing that I'm doing something that will bring me closer to my other half just helps all of those other problems and concerns sink away.

I am hoping that I can make another trip for the beginning of September, but I haven't gotten around to telling my current boss that. So many things going on at work, half of me doesn't want to request it, the other half is just itching to go. Figure if I'm lucky enough to get another three weeks down there, we can receive our NOA2 while I'm there, I'll return home to find that NVC has sent away our case to Montreal, and I'll feel like we're already on our way. Of course, I'll have nothing to keep myself busy with for the two months to follow that, as everything's prepared... but hey, at least I'll feel like we're moving.

My boss already told me "NO" even before me asking her. So I guess my hopes for another trip are pretty much zero for the remaining of the year.

Chris, we are sure waiting for good news from you. We are really hoping for the best for you two. You'll see.........we will celebrate with you here.

PEACE...................

Anyone else struggle with the decision to make another trip this year, or to save up days off for when the visa is approved?

For me, iI don't want to choose a 6 or 7 month gap without seeing my fiancee, but on the other hand I want plenty of time to make the move with her and to help her settle in, show her around the USA, etc. I am thinking about asking for a few weeks of unpaid leave next year, but I am sure that will go over like a lead balloon (ton of bricks, or insert your favorite cliche hear)!

I am trying to decide on the issue as well... I have two weeks of vacation and I am trying to save them. One, I want to go there be with her at the interview and bring her here myself, and the other for the wedding and honeymoon. However I am starting to miss her too much and if they do not approve us by mid September I might just take my vacantion and go! These past months it has been the longest we have been apart since we met two years ago. I used to go every month. A hard decision to make because I know I will need the vacation later.

Best of luck to you guys!!!

For me to take time off isn't a hassle - small business, where the owners actually like when they don't have to pay me to be there, heh. And when I go down to visit Ben, he doesn't take time off, so it doesn't really affect the job, thankfully.

He has gone over his vacation days by two weeks this year, however, and we're hoping they won't hassle him too too much when he attempts to take off a couple of days to come up for my interview, and then a week when I move down. Hopefully, compassion on his boss' part will come into play?

In our case we decided to save up days for when she comes here (God please let it happen!!!!!) That way we can go through the paperwork for AOS and to take time to show her around. Besides, she being the smartest of us, we agreed that the money I will be spending in another trip to Romania would be better used for her plane ticket here......God willing. I was there a little more than 3 months ago so my boss told me NO in a way that I think my SO heard that. hehehe.

I just hope that our plan pays off. We'll see.

Oh I struggle! We've been apart for almost 7 months and it's killing us!

I have 3 days left and I want to save them for when he gets here, to welcome him home ;) . I'm too chicken to ask for time off without pay to go visit...not such a good time to ask for that in the banking industry! Plus, money for a plane ticket (not cheap) and money to file the AOS...it's so crazy! Hopefully he'll get here this year and then I WILL ask for time without pay, for after our wedding. If they say no, well...they are just heartless!

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Good energy for the coming week! I see approvals coming! :dancing:

I know what you are feeling about making another visit. I was going to go back to Turkey in Sept. because we haven't seen each other since March 2 but we have decided it would be best for him to continue to work and for me to save my vacation time. BUT it is very, very hard to be away from him for so long. We aren't expecting to be together until, at least, Thanksgiving. Looking back, the time has past very fast but looking ahead......OMG!!

Yes I have strangled with this myself. My future wife is the one that keeps me calm and tells me to save the money.I have not seen my love in 6 months now.We only see each other online with web cam,She stays up late every night to spend time with me.I dont know how she handles her work with such little sleep.

Its been very hard but I can not afford to go because my business is not doing that great. So We have made up our minds to stick it out for the interview. My baby has told me she wants me to come a few days before interview so we spend some time together catching up :)

And then she does not want to go back to the USA for ten days after interview. She wants us just to be by our self for ten days. She knows if I was to get back to the states I would want to go back to work soon, because I would be worried about my business. So she has told me she wants me all to herself she would keep me in the Ukraine so the poeple that work for me could not call me LOL, Smart girl because I know if i got back home I would be wanting to check in and see what was going on,And then I would be there working the rest of the day because I like to help out.Lets face it I love to work!!

Its been real hard this past 6 months but we are close to the end.We should get word very soon on our visa,And about another 2 or 3 weeks,And then I will buy plane tickets and be off to see her very soon after words.

She is worth the wait.

I have made four trip to China in 8 months and all of them 2 to 4 weeks long, but now I need to think if I want to go back in September or wait untill she get her interview date. It is hard to stay away, but now I don't have anyone I can trust with my business while I am away. My daughter and her husband went bacK to Iowa, so now I'm working more then I would like too. I will for sure go back for the interview, as we are coming back to the states together. What makes this so hard, is that we don't have a clue when the approvals are going to come and then how long it is going to take to get her #3 packet and then when the interview is going to be.
