*shaking VSC tree.. come onnnn.. if we shake hard enough maybe one will fall out today!!*

Haha, that made me smile.

Good morning everyone. The coffee won't seem to combat the rain today.

I, too, am lucky enough where the company I currently work for is understanding enough to let me make semi-frequent visits (aka, two weeks every couple of months or so). Of course, part of this is probably due to the fact that this entire area is in a major decline, and any time I take off without pay means money they save, haha. So although it always seems to me that there are ages between our visits, I know others have it far worse than we do.

If my company were to let me go, however (which has been toyed with), I'd likely hop across the border for a couple of months and wait out the time until NOA2.

I'm not that lucky. :crying: As some might already know, I'm a civil engineer and work as project manager for the government. I manage projects dealing with road, bridges and highways construction. Right now I'm in the middle between one ending project and the ext one which should begin around September or October.

Problem is that is at the beginning where 90% of the problems arise. So, needles to say, they would not let me go not even in a short vacation to see my angel because I already took them this past March when I went there to see her.

So I guess I have to wait this until the end. But hey....by this time next year we will be together God willing and I will be the happiest engineer in Puerto Rico. Count on it. :D

PEACE my friends........

Same with my fiance. He's an electrician, and as one of the lead techs in his company, it's impossible for him to take off much work. This year he even pushed it an extra week, so we could spend time on our own down in FL. It's going to be a very difficult thing and likely involve a fair bit of grovelling for him to join me in Montreal for my interview, whenever that falls.

So when I go down to visit him now, he spends the day working, I get the lay of the land. At least our evenings are together, then.

This is bad. Not only Vermont has been taunting us by approving petitions from January and even December last year, but they have come to a compete stop. No approvals in the last 2 days. At least that we know off.

Don't take me wrong. I'm happy for those in January and December because God knows they have been waiting longer than us and deserve to be happy too. But this is getting a bit ridiculous. I wish there could be some normality in VSC actions but I think I might as well wish to win the lottery. hehehehe. Come on Vermont!!!!!! Send us a bit of sunshine in our direction.

Haha that's what I do when I visit Chris, but I will be honest, I can quite happily sit at home alone most days and it doesn't bother me in the slightest, plus I just get on the computer if i'm feeling lonely and talk to my friends which thanks to WoW are not only in Australia but the US too :)

Same here, being home doesn't bother me in the least. A billion e-books, American cable and WoW do the trick just fine. Not to mention that I've basically done the bulk of our paperwork on my own, so that keeps me busy gathering updated info when I'm visiting.

I think the trick may be to get my fiancee hooked on Warcraft!!! ;)

Also I haven't involved her too much in this USCIS nonsense.. sometimes I feel like she's better off not knowing all of the minutia.. although lately I've had to put her through some major CBP training (we practice all the time where I'm the border agent)! Hmm then again, if I can get her on Visajourney she could commiserate with you ladies during the day while I'm at work ;)

Noooo, as a fellow WoWer, I don't recommend passing along the addiction to anyone! Haha.

As the non-USC, I haven't involved him with much of the nonsense, outside of what I needed of his. If I even hint at something, he just huffs about how ridiculous it is... I laugh and tell him, that's fine, but we've still got to chug along with it.

hehehe.....we are almost the same. My angel doesn't come here often because she found a similar forum in Romania so she hangs most of the time there and tells me about the approvals and situations there.

Talking about games......have anybody tried this new game called Runes of Magic? Is so similar to WoW that is amazing. And it's free.

Anyway.............just wanted to post something.....hehehe

Don't worry. Our time to jump with joy will come soon. :D

Good Morning All -I got a canned response to my letter to the USCIS Ombudsman. After that I sent a letter to my Congressman. Now I feel like I have done everything I can do to bring some equity to the system. The wedding will officially be cancelled on August 14 and having learned from my own stupid mistakes, I will not plan another one until we have a visa in hand. In the meantime, we decided to use Kira's ticket that we got for him to come here for a trip for me back to Moscow next month.

As I mentioned before, I used to work for the USG. After my experience with USCIS as an outsider I look back on it in an entirely different light. Now I understand that one of the major sources of frustrations for "customers" is the lack of transparency. Decisions seem to me made within a black box with no requirement on the agency's part for a reasonable or timely explanation if processes slow down or go off track. If I ever go back to work for the USG, this experience will definitely change for the better how I interact with the public. I think most people are reasonable and if you give them a reasonable explanation, they will be patient - as I would be in this situation if the agency were to simply explain what is going on.

You know? My angel at some times she gets really worried about all this process. She is afraid that after all the time we are made to wait, the money involved and all the paperwork, a CO who may be got to work with a bad mood that day decides that our relation is not real and denies her the visa. It's a scary scenario if I think about that too. Because even though we don't set an aproximate date for our plans, a denial will simply destroy them.

Hey, I understand the process, I don't mind following it by the book. But at the end your relation, your future together is in the hands of a person who probably was in a bad mood that day and decides to deny the visa because he or she simply doesn't believe in your relationship no matter how much evidence you bring.

BUT!!! I will not give up. I'm preparing our truckload of evidence in a way and a manner that even a kid will understand. And it's a lot of evidence.

I put everything in God's hand. I truly believe that he will get us through this. :D

PEACE my friends.........

When you love someone from the bottom of your heart; so much that you are willing to give your life for your loved one, time and distance takes a backseat. Only love prevails. And with love in you hearts you can overcome anything.
