I am still on step 1 I-130 form. I just typed it out and printed out the form. Still waiting on my wifes BC & photos to come in the mail. I just noticed something that I could need help on. I noticed on line 22 on the I-130 if my wife is not eligable for adjustment of status. It asks for the name of an American Consular post.. My wife is in Estado de Mexico, Mexico and I know of 9 Consular post now ... which one she be able to go to to for her K-3 Visa once they send me a ok letter to file for the K-3 visa?

And also I prepared myself a very thick package with letters, my plane ticket reciepts, photos, letters, reciepts of all kind, phone records, my western union slips.. ect. Now am I going way to much with this or would this be enough to prove our marriage is legit.

I am going to visit her again April 30 to May 7. And want to send this out before hand and want everything perfecto. For this small fee of 355 instead of paying a lawyer 1 - 2g I want to try and get anything / everything right here.

Any information of help is very needed and would like to hear some advice to make this process as smooth as possible.

Thanks

I was told by USCIS that it doesnt matter what you enter on that line; NVC will automatically send the 129f file to the appropriate consulate.

It's up to you if you want to add all of the proof of bonofides in your intitial petition. Alot of people dont add anything other than the legal docs proving they are married. But, sending everything in now means that the consulate will have it to review before your wife has her actual interview since they get the whole file from NVC. Now, if you "frontload" the 130 packet, but decide to have her do a K3 interview; they wont have all of that, they will only have the 129f packet in front of them and it wont have anything that you sent with the 130. I hope that wasnt confusing heh

I would suggest you email the embassy closest to your wife's city and ask if they handle k3 applications for esadio de mexico. So you do know which embassy she is going to before she actually receives her interview packet from them.

I hope that helped and good luck!

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
