Hello all VJ'ers! In reading the various threads I'm slightly confused. Now that I've received my NOA2 and waiting for NVC to forward my case on to Manila what I want to know is will packet three be mailed or must we download it? As nears as I can tell all I really need is DS-156 for my fiance in the Philippines as well as the remaining list of birth certificate, police record, cenomar, proof of on-going relationship, etc. Obvously my part is the financial stuff--tax returns, I-134 I think it is, to show I can support her, etc. So the question is do I download (need link if you have it handy) or do we wait for snail mail of packet 3? Am I forgetting anything?

Thanks everyone! This site is pretty amazing. It has been oustandingly helpful through this process and I'm very appreciative.

Best wishes,

Steven & Grace

The problem with waiting for the mail is that in many parts of the world the mail is completely unreliable. We still have our flat in Donetsk and packet 3 is yet to arrive. My wife arrived last September.

I downloaded packet 3 before filing the petition and had all interview documents completed before filing the petition (except the I-134 which I waited until interview time for) We made our interview appointment the same day our petition was entered in the consulate system. Also, as far as the other forms go, I stronlgy recommend the USC also fill these out, obtain translations, etc. My wife never filled out a form. I went to the interview and the evening before she signed all the documents I prepared. I just do not think this is a good "team effort" project, expecting all the things needed to be assembled half a world apart and come together before the interview is just asking for problems, IMHO. The phrase "I thought YOU were doing that!" comes to mind.

We have another interview this June (K-2 to follow) for our older son. I am preparing all the documents now, I may or may not go to this one, but my wife will be well "armed" with an organized, complete set of documents. I think neither of us will worry about it. Our son will have a few "sticky note" arrows pointing to where he is to sign.

Go to the consulate website, the link to download should be easy to find. On Kiev's it was a link in the upper left corner "Download packet 3 here"

hello! yeah, you have to download the form from the internet. you can download it from this website... http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf I dont think that there is any packet coming. I've heard that before, the USEM used to send the packet with instructions and everything. I didnt get anything. But they did sent me a one-page letter. They just provided me the website with complete instructions and links where we can download the forms...

good luck.. :)

MY K1 EXPERIENCE blog...click on this link..

My K1 visa has already been approved. I had been really frustrated to find more info about K1 when we were still under the process. Some blogs have been useful. Now, that I completed the K1 process, I wish to share my own experience. So click on the link if you need more info about K1. The blog includes the requirements, med exams, questions on the interview, CFO and more. I hope that it will help. Thanks. Cheers and good luck.. :)
