Hey Sonia,

glad to hear from you and seems like you are have a very good preparation there.Hahaha. I just need to ask you 2 questions. 1. How did you get the phone logs? and 2. Will your husband be able to get in the interview room with you?

Seems like you have everything ready. You know what me and wife, we used to live in Malaysia too. Where did you go in MY? O! by the way, make sure you do the medical as soon as possible. If, god forbidden , anything goes wrong then you will get chance to re-do it.

Hope for the best, and pray for us too.

Say salam to your Husband for me and what is his name? Let me know.

Dhaka embassy observes both the Bengali and the US holidays. I wish I had seen this post earlier to relieve the stress but glad you were able to find out the case of the interview date change. This is very typical of them, they changed my husband's one day forward even though it was not a holiday (It had fallen on Sep 11 how ironic). I must stress though that this is not considered a "mess" if one is talking about Dhaka embassy - 13 months of waiting after the interview, 2 AP's, and the embassy not responding to any of dozens of e-mails and even sending an inquiry form in person, visiting the embassy after 6 months of AP and getting no information - that's a mess. I understand that freaking out is a normal process for this type of situation as it is very sensetive but for future readers of Dhaka embassy, please note that this type of date changes, and AP are normal processes that are happenning to thousands of people - on the same day, same hour as your own husband/fiance. Women get less ####### but still some common names like Khan seem to get stuck sometimes. Overall, there are no such things as easy ways in life and a visa journey through Dhaka embassy is NOT one any sane person should ponder to repeat. I hope that the embassy begins to improve upon its system, provide a calling center and answer their e-mails, otherwise people become disheartened and even enter depression if the wait has been very long.

Another note for future readers - after the case is forwarded from NVC to the embassy, they do not have any information about the case as to where it is, or what status. If they have anything, its just a record that it was there and was approved, forward, etc but any details about interview, date changes, AP (additional processing after interview) that is all in the discretion of DOS and the embassy. Calling DOS is useless in most cases but they at least answer some inquires such as if an interview date has been issued, changed, if AP was issued, and if AP is cleared and/or the visa has been issued and is being printed AND if the embassy has contacted the applicant concerning any 2nd interviews.

Thank you so much Tam for such nice and informative post...Pray for us....

Khaled,

Here are your answers...

1) Phone log was requested from the service provider (For me it was grameen phone). You pay Tk 115 for each month and get ur itemized statement with ur bill. I got a huge bunch of papers, it is about 50 page bill for 3 months only. Signaficantly shows my thousands of my husband's sms, incoming calls etc.

2) I am really not sure if they gonna allow my husband in the interview room. But, we will enter the room together, just to make sure the CO knows that he is here. If after that CO asks him to leave the room, he would cordially do that. I hope this will help...It is just to give them a feeling that my spouse is really concern about this issue and bonafide enough come and accompany me to my interview.

Well for Malaysia, we went there only for 4 days. Was in the KL city mostly, went to Ganting Island once.......My husband always came for a very short time like 2 weeks...so could not manage time longer than that....

Anyways....R u excited about ur interview? What r ur plans?

Hey Sonia,

thanks a lot for your reply. It was really very helpful. By the way you number is a post paid number with Grameen right? My one is prepaid. So do you think they will give me a phone log for pre paid line? I dont know much about it.

Hell yea. I am damn excited and trying to recall all the memories since 2005. I am planning to show all the photos since 2005 and also the e-mails. But there are so many to show. I dont know what to do . I might take 1 or 2 e-mails of each month. My wife is coming too and she is willing to go with me for my interview. I wish they let us take the DVD of our reception. We had so much fun.

O! Ganting Highland is awesome place to go. and I am so sorry that you had only 4 days there. KL is so big and you should have gone to the Bird Park and Sunway Lagoon. May be next time. hahahhah. I had a job in MY and lived there for 1 year and 8 months.

Any way, when do you think is the best time to be infront of US embassy on 27th APR? Let me know.

Take care.

Khaled
