On the K1 guide it says to mail the beneficary a complete copy of the original I129f packet and show documentaion that i sent it to her for the interview. I do not have access to my packet, is it ok to go to the interview with out this? I assumed that USCIS would forward the packet to the embassy. Also, we have only met in person once for 2 months, does she need to bring the same exact photos that we original sent?

Also it says a new updated letter with intent to marry. I'm not sure what i wrote on the first one is this ok?

To whom it may concern,

I name would like to confim my intent to marry "name" within 90 days of her arrival to the USA.

You should make copies as indicated by the guidelines, but its not going to prevent a successful interview. Files, forms etc get lost sometimes. Having a copy for yourself and your fiancee helps you reduce any delays (during an interview is the CO says "oh were missing form such and such" your fiancee can say, " I have a copy here").

Your letter looks good, add a phrase that "I am free to marry and I intend to marry "name" within....

How would not have access to what you sent?

be that as it may, we were not asked for the I-129f packet, it is not mandatory, but what if? Since you will be sending a few things anyway, why not.

You can use the sample fiancee letter here on VJ. We used it for the initial application and smply printed it and signed it again the night before the interview. As it turned out they did not ask to see the letters BUT (I was at the interview) the pre-screener did ask us if we agreed to marry within 90 days of her arrival, so there WAS a verification of that. I suppose if I was not there, my letter would have been helpful.

I would also point out that the guides here area compilation of many members experiences and are quite good. They may be "over and above" for some consulates, but if you want to succeed, I would suggest following them. You may, as we did, end up with more papers at the interview than needed. I carried them right back out with a big smile on my face.

Thanks for the info gary and alla. The reason i don't have access to what i sent is because i am currently in a different country and will be here until August. I did not think i would need those documents with me, I guess i found the guide alittle too late. :( I have a copy of all the documents back in the US. But i will not be back there until August 1st and her interview is in May

OK, makes sense. If someone can send it to you, that would be great. You will most likely not need it. Depends on the consulate. The consulate SHOULD have your entire petition. The more the merrier, I always say. It is just one of those things in life that you really want to go right and doing EVERYTHING you can is good, if for nothing else, your own self confidence. I was nervous before our interview, of course, but I remember thinking "I know I have done all I can". If you feel you have done ALL you can do, you will feel better about the whole process. We still did not sleep the night before and must have gone through the papers 1000 times and never found a mistake. LOL The VJ guides may be on the "conservative side" but better that than to walk out of the consulate slapping your forehead saying "DOH!!!!"

Best of luck

No there is NOT (i wish there was). All of my stuff is in a storage unit (so that i don't have to pay rent while im gone) I called the company to ask if some can access it for me and they said only I can and that the only exception to that rule is if I die, which i don't think is worth the it! LOL thanks guys!

If you die the K-1 is null and void

I doubt you will need it. But I like to go by the famous movie line "That's not a knife...THIS is a knife" only I would bring a gun. My Dad used to say "There isn't much a man can't fix with $700 or a .30-06" Not that its relevent, and now it probably takes $2000 anyway. But do the best you can anyway.
