Hello guys,

We had our AOS interview at Raleigh-Durham,NC Office today for 1:00 pm appointment and everything went so good and easy  I brought everything we had except for the "House Property Deed". We went there 40 minutes earlier and the securities were nice, polite and welcome us with a smile :) They asked for our Interview Notice and ID's. My husband presented his DL and I showed my State ID. They told us to go to the lobby and wait to be called. There was one couple ahead of us waiting in the lobby and then came 4 more couples with their kids. Few more came and around 12:40, we were called to the reception and asked for our Interview Notice and gave us a number then we went up to the 2nd floor. My husband keep looking on his watch as it was a little bit late for the Interview to start (1:15 pm) Then suddenly our number first flashed on the monitor and told us to go inside. We were surprised cuz we thought we'll be called after the 3 couples who got the first 3 numbers. We went straight to the door but it was locked. Then came a little bit skinny guy who looked so simple and opened the door for us. First I thought he was not the Immigration Officer but he took us to his office.

He was so nice, straight and quick. First he let us stand and take oath then he started to ask what my husband do for a living and what company he's working with. My husband answered it briefly that he's working as Infrastructure Service Engineer at NIEHS. The he asked for our passports, took out the 1-94, my employment card and Supporting Evidences. I handed him the original copies of our two utility bills: Amerigas and Time Warner, then Joint Checking Account, my Debit Card, 401K, and Medical Insurance but he said he just need copies. So I gave him the copies of it. He sked if we had Lease Contract but my husband said he own a house and we didn't bring it since my name wasn't in it yet cuz he bought that house before I came here. Then again he sked for the Title but we didn't have it too. I was glad he didn't told us to get it back home :P I asked him if he wanted to see our cards or pictures cuz I brought alot of it but he just looked on me. He kept checking on our documents while he's asking how did we met, do we have kids, and if I'm employed. Then asked about the Part 3 Processing Information on the I-485 Form. Which is of course "No" for all the answers :D My husband reacted on the last question that says" Do you plan to practice polygamy in the U.S.? The he said, "Ohh no.. you better not honey! "Then the Immigration Officer laughed :P We waited for few minutes after that while he keeps on typing and then wrote something on the back of my I-94 and stapled it on a sheet of paper. My husband said he checked a box that said "Approved" on it but I didn't noticed it. After he was done typing he printed two copies of document and asked me to sign on it with the date too. My heart was pounding cuz I thought the letter was asking for more evidences. My husband asked what was it all about and he joked. "Well your wife can now join the Marines" and smiled :P He then explained that I just got approved and granted a Conditional Residence and wait for 2 to 4 weeks to get my Greencard in the mail. He told me to read the document he gave me and follow what it says there for the application of Form I-751 (90) day period preceeding the second anniversary that I was granted conditional status.

He put all our documents on one bulky file as we watched him and then my husband asked if we're done and he said "That's It! Pretty Painless Right?" We both smiled and we went out so happy! Thanks for all of you guys who have been so helpful and for all who shared their interview experience here. I tell you, it helped me alot while preparing for my interview  Also, Goodluck to all who have their upcoming interview!

CONGRATULATIONS! Im glad to hear how smoothly it went for you. Thanks for sharing!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
