First of all - I love your siggy pic, Marilyn! :D

Secondly, the Mini Eggs they sell over here around this time of year are the same as UK ones. I've had to conduct numerous taste tests to confirm this, mind you. :P

Even more silly creme egg news:

Silly bird, those aren't yours!

Before I left home, I used to pick up stuff from the local Waitrose, and there was this little Indian man who would come once in a while with these two big beautiful cockatoos. He would bring them with him, leave them on the rail outside, get his groceries, and come back for them. I think he entertained for parties and that kind of thing, and it was an awesome way of promoting what he did -- and he had such a close bond with them, like they were his daughters. I think one was named Emma, don't remember the name of the other one. I only knew that because she was the most mischievous and he kept having to call her name; I asked to hold them once, and I was wearing this coat with a furry hood. Emma seemed to like the fuzziness of the hood and kept yelling until he told her to quieten down, and then she decided to dash off into the car park. He told her sternly to come back, and she went "sowwy!" (but didn't seem rueful in the least) and came scuttling back. Their intelligence is not to be underestimated :P.

D: It almost makes me want one. They're so cuddly to pet, but I'd watch their beaks :P.

and the pointy, pointy talons! hee.

off-off-topic question: waitrose is a bit of a mystery for me. (i have an obsession with grocery stores. love 'em!) i know waitrose is owned by m&s (right?) but is it like cheaper? or nicer? or more organic? i never lived near one in all of my time in the UK, so havent done much first-hand research.

(this may be a totally weird question, but i am curious about EVERYTHING. jm. and i keep lists of things to google/wiki. recent examples: how pineapples are harvested, what the history of the £-sign is, what the difference between mass and weight is, and which animal has the smalled brain in relation to body size. <3)

and to veer even further off-topic (why not, we're already there!) i love this ridulculous game though i can only play it once a year or so:

O.O Waitrose is actually owned by John Lewis, and is a completely separate entity and rival of M&S in terms of groceries. I think it's marginally cheaper but the food quality is meant to be on par with M&S (I can't taste the difference, personally). The cheese + milk and own-brand products are excellent though, and if I want some nice gouda or dessert or something, I'll get it from Waitrose (and I'll just get branded stuff like cereal from Tesco).

:P And Fruit Mystery seems incredibly bizarre, if oddly informative...I can't tell what any of the fruit drawn there is, so I'm mostly guessing :: giggles ::.

Oh Waitrose, how I miss thee. What I wouldn't give for the variety and freshness.

I have also awoken from dreams where I am traipsing up and down the aisles of the M&S food hall in Marble Arch, throwing delicacies in my shopping trolley.

I miss the days of getting up on a Sunday morning and getting some fresh baked crossiants from Waitrose on a Sunday morning and some fresh squezzed orange juice and the Sunday paper.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm fresh crossiants not like the 2 day old ones Krogers deli still calls fresh from there bakery.

That feed the animals game is the dumbest ever. I thought I was feeding algae to a shrimp and it was something else to a scorpion. And "black worms" to a bird when indeed it was cashews???!@? Fooled me. Those pictures are bad and the midi sound was worse. :P

thats why i can only play it once a year. but i have changed the word 'pineapple' in my personal lexicon to 'pineable' because, frankly, its a better word.

(i make jamie pineable upside-down cake for valentine's day. well, i have the last two years. this year's version was god-awful.)
