Court Rules That Dairies Can't Label Milk "Hormone-Free"

soooo...test the milk for the synthetic version, then they can put it on the ingredient label?

They can circumvent the courts ruling by labeling the milk organic, but dairy farmers who choose not to give their milk cows the bovine growth hormone should be able to indicate that on their label legally. I think Monsanto got away on a technicality - that the label was stating the milk was free of the hormone when all milk has some of the hormone in it naturally.

that's what I was thinking too. too bad. I'm not a milk drinker so it doesn't matter much to me, but I'm sure it does to people who drink it.

I love milk...I'd go insane without it...and thankfully, I haven't grown an extra set of teets.

This sucks! I try to avoid dairy products with synthetic growth hormone because they cause acne. I'm pissed :protest:

When this came up in Ohio I found out that one of the reasons for not allowing it on the label was that there is no test to differentiate between the natural and synthetic version of the hormone when found in milk. People could claim they were not using it when they were because the test only confims the presence of the hormone, natural or synthetic.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
