Hey!

I have my work authorization and I am about to go to change my name and address on my SS card(I already have it from 2007 when I came with work and travel visa, but I have another address and it's on my maiden name).

My husband doesn;t have so many days off and I wanna solve the pb today.(because I understood it takes 2 weeks, and I need my name changed for having issued a DL and for applying for fed financial aid for college and I need to move fast).I have to go to a SSA in another city.I called them but they hang up very quickly,.I didn;t get to ask everything that I need.

I am going to show them:

-My work authorization in my married name

-my passport(maiden name)

-and marriage certificate

Do you think it's all I need?

On my SS card it's a stamp .It says:Valid only with work authorization. On the new card I will still have that stamp?

Thank you!!

yes, that is exactly what you do because you need to update SSA on any changes to your immigration status...
