Well done HAPPYbiscuit! :D

I know MJ, people don't know what I'm talking about either. Even my husband gives me the "what's the point in that? what are you celebrating?" when I tell him how I wish we had Bonfire Night here. Because I like pretty colours and fire! Not in a creepy way.

AP received! My MIL locked it in a safe straight away so it doesn't get lost...

Looks like I won't be going to England in a few weeks.

My husband's car just decided to have its head gasket break into pieces and they told us that it wasn't worth fixing. We had to spend our savings on a new car instead... now to tell the family and friends that I won't be making it... wish me luck guys, it won't be pretty. :P

Well if I was your Mum, I would buy your ticket.

Sorry about the car stealing your holiday plans.

Grats on green carders, eee! Go have fun, and then look for a job :P.

The car being unreasonable sounds a bit poo, Gemmie...I would get a second opinion, though. My hubby was told his truck (which made friends with a pole earlier this year) was totalled, but here I am, getting it repaired.

Wooo, it snowed...I'll probably get sick of it in a while, but it's exciting right now. I went and made a snow angel :P, which is probably the first in front of the house in years. Wow, four inches! We barely got an inch in Surrey where I lived, and even then, it was gone within a few days. Snooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow!

WHAAAT! Dude/Dudette are you serious? I live in Detroit, and thank god we have an indian summer at mo, because Detroit winters are no freakin joke: have you ever worn thermals, under two to three layers of clothes and still got frostbite...... nahhhhhh, give me mild and grey anytime. lets hope i brought that boring mildness with me for DEtroit this year, they had the wettest summer since the 80's ( which started when I came) now to have the non-snowiest(my word) winter ever!

I'mmmm dreaming of a Miiiillld Christmasssss..........

:P I don't know whether Detroit is colder than Wasilla (Alaska!), but I'm actually getting used to this. I have worn thermals, and I do wear several layers, so I'm okay! I decided to let my poor kitty see what the snow was like, so if he has any notions of escape, he'll quickly think twice about them.

In any case :P the bit I'm apparently not going to like is when it's too cold for even snow, so we'll see how that goes...

Well if I was your Mum, I would buy your ticket.

Sorry about the car stealing your holiday plans.

Nich, hope you're feeling better.

Daddy doesn't have any money himself (Mummy has passed now), or I'm sure he would love to pay for it. I'll still tell him though and maybe through some fluke, a combination of family payments will buy a ticket. I've already told my friends that I can't make it and they said they're disappointed but understand about the financial situation and just want me to be happy. I love them so much.

The car being unreasonable sounds a bit poo, Gemmie...I would get a second opinion, though. My hubby was told his truck (which made friends with a pole earlier this year) was totalled, but here I am, getting it repaired.

Head gaskets apparently cost well over a thousand anyway and since the car was 15 years old... might as well call it a day. We bought a new one that also has better gas mileage so it's for the best.

Also with the good news rolling... my husband has a full-time job! :dancing: We've been waiting since JUNE for ths job to make him full-time but they couldn't get the funding so kept telling us to hold on. Well yesterday someone quit on the spot so he gets to take her position.

I agree with primahen, I'm also dreaming of a mild Christmas. I understand the excitement though Magpie... I loved when it snowed here until it got up to knee-level and I had to start shoveling it ever day.

The Chickenpox vaccine.........Did you guys get one or were required to get one? On my husband's DS 3025, the Doc at the London medical wrote that it is was not available. We just thought that meant that he didnt need it. We submitted the DS 3025 with the AOS. We didnt have the other form filled out by a civil surgeon because he was up to date on everything. Do you guys think we'll get an RFE?
