thanks i figured it out after i had posted that.. but i realise that on the 15th they approved my travel thing but i havent received anything in the post.. but i have received my EAD

You should receive something soon...I didn't even get a notice or anything about my EAD until it showed up in the mail. :D Thank goodness for getting your EAD though, eh?

Also :D I got the email today saying they've finally posted my green card. Woohoo!

Magpie.

P.S. Also :D I decided on "Kallista" as my middle name, as I'll be using the same middle initial anyhoo, and I liked the sound of it (and so did Knight). I can get that changed soon, I hope!

Upon the mountain of that which would undo us, our banner shall fly highest.

Nice middle name Magpie!!

Our GC was ordered today which is good news.

Been busy lately as I have started work. Started working back at the bank I used to work for in NYC.

Tough waking up in the morning but nice to get back into a routine.

Good Luck to everyone

primahen there is a fantastic list of documents that you need for AOS/EAD/AP on page 6 of this thread provided by Nich-Nick, post number 84.

The only difference is you don't have to send off tax returns for the previous three years, last years (2008) is sufficient as long as the income is above poverty level for your household. Hope this helps!

Put on the support form what he is making now mulitplied into a yearly figure. If his salary is now $4000/month, then put income of $48,000. His pay stubs or employer letter will back up the figure he states. The tax return does not have to match. It shows a history of income, but you don't have to put the tax return figure on the I-864 where it asks for current income or salary. I had a certified copy made of my marriage certificate that I sent in. Not sure what others have done.

hey, thanks for that, I did exactly that with the wage he now gets. right 1 more question, i dont have a ds3205, from my medical, i do have a copy of my vaccinations from my g.p in london. I would prefer to wait to go and see a civil surgeon because of the cost and because it looks like most of them here want to give you the frigging vaccines even if you have already had them, and I have.. Should i just wait for the rfe? also should i really do the separate apps as you did, how much quicker is the EAD dealt with as a result?

thanks nic

I'll probably start looking for work in the new year as I'm hoping to go to the UK in a few weeks. But this is good for changing my SSN and getting my drivers permit.

Good morning UK friends. Somebody recently asked me for my list of what I sent for AOS. This is modified from my cover letter and may help some of you get the big picture of what to start preparing. This is for K1s.

I-485 (Adjustment of Status)

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)

Photocopy of birth certificate of immigrant with translaton

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Form G-325A Biographic Information Sheet (immigrant)

Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by USC) with photocopies of supporting documents: This varies by each applicant so here's generic suggestions

---Employment letter

---3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy)

---six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)

(If needed)Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by Co-sponsor) with photocopies of supporting documents:

---Proof of co-sponsors citizenship/status, ie US birth ceritificate, bio page of passport, naturalization papers, or LPR status

---Employment letter

---3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy)

---six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)

Photocopy of I-797 Notice of Action, I-129 Petition Approval Notice from USCIS (That's your NOA2)

Certified copy of Marriage Certificate

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record (card from the plane, may be stapled in passport)

Form I-693 with the immunization section filled out by a US Civil Surgeon, signed and sealed by him. Read the instructions for the form.

or DS-3025 from UK medical if all shots were completed at Knightsbridge if you want to take that chance

I-765 (Employment Authorization)

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

I-131 (Advance Parole travel document)

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)

Statement of circumstances that warrant issuance of advance parole

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

And a check for $1010 made out to the Department of Homeland Security

That's 3 separate applications with supporting evidence all mailed together in one envelope with one check. They will get processed in different places, so that's why the duplication of evidence. You don't have to do all three, but the second two are free if sent with the AOS and will get you authorized to work or travel sooner than waiting for the green card to arrive in most cases. Green card could take 6 months. Work and travel 60-90 days.

Do not work until the I-765 is approved and you have the EAD card

Do not leave the US until the I-131 is approved (K1s) and you get the travel documents or you will not be allowed back in. Once you have a green card, then no problem.

HA HA.....not as straight foward as i thought...just a quickie peeps.....

ok...so the medical:

I have my completed DS3025 from the Knitsbridge doctors...however, after the visit there i went to my own doctors and had a couple of jabs (MMR, DTAP) that i needed a booster on. The nurse at my docs printed me out a record sheet so i have evidence of having them.

Do i need to go to a doctors office out here with the I693 and pay $120 for another medical like they are telling me...or are photo copies of what i have good enough?

Hey, congrats Gemmie!

Do you mean as in removing the wording from the SSN card? I thought the GC was needed for that? If not I'd better go get that done myself, thanks!

Posted

I mean changing my name. We went to the office a few weeks ago and they (rudely) told me that I needed a green card to do that. I asked if it was OK if I used my EAD and she (rudely) told me that "yes, that's what I said". Gotta love ignorance.

Vegas, I wouldn't get another medical done. I just used my incomplete DS3025 and sent in a record of having the vaccinations afterwards. No problems. I advise using Dr. Arnold.

Posted

I'm really annoyed...I had to go and get my name changed on the SSN# because of my new job...and the day we went to social security...my GC arrived. I hate going in there...it's 'orrible!

Looks like another trip back there.

Congrats on the EAD Gemmie!
