Congratulations! Under 4 months is still good going. I think going into this I had banked on 4 months so if it takes that long, I'll be a happy bunny! I'll update the spreadsheet now.

Awww no, I'm avoiding the UK until next spring when hopefully it warms a bit, I cant bear the idea of being properly cold ever again.

Have fun on your trip to Jolly blighty......

Thank you. I'm back briefly but wireless connection is dodgy and my computer is in a box somewhere.

Tuesday 29-Sept--got bad belly ache in evening, but had one day to finish packing and didn't really have time to be sick.

Wed 30-Sept--went to Emergency room in pain worse than childbirth. Screamed alot (not my norm). CT scan indicates diverticulitis. Morphine with 2 Vicodins is not helping. Admitted to hospital. Taking 2 IV antibiotics and narcotics.

Thurs 1-Oct --Transferred to Houston medical center by ambulance for a colon specialist/surgeon. Yay, no surgery needed. Oh and I moved that day because movers were booked solid past deadline to be out of old house.

Sat 3-Oct --After nothing but a sponge lolly thingy to wet my tongue and lips since Wednesday, I finally get water and glorious broth!

Sun 4-Oct --Wow. Soft diet approved. Feeling better.

Monday 5-Oct -- Our first wedding anniversary!! (L) isn't how I imagined it, but I did get released from hospital to a new home filled with boxes...all my clothes still at old house. It was one of the worst days of my life, but hey...we'll try for better next year.

Tues/Wed/Thurs-- spending long hours at old house trying to finish emptying it. I'm still very ill and taking 2 Vicodin's every 4 hrs to try to cope. Nick is exhausted and psychotic at this point. But we know we love each other and will start acting like it soon. LOL. Old house is officially empty and garage is holding neatly stacked last load to pick up today. Friday is supposed to be the closing date of old house where I get the $$$$ and new people get the keys. If that doesn't happen, I guess I'll just have to kill someone in a narcotic induced rage.

Congratulations on those with new progress/approvals EADs, etc.

Oh, Nich! :: huggums :: I'm so sorry, I googled it too and it must have been absolutely awful. I had this niggly feeling I should call but my step-mum-in-law was away in Oregon (to be with her new grandson =D I'm an...aunt-in-law thing?) so I couldn't use her phone. Please look after yourself, I know your wonderful Nick will be doing so. It's a yucky patch and you'll be feeling better soon...or else! Dad (Knight's dad) was just asking for you and your hubby recently, wondering how you both were. He's very fond of the two of you, and so's my Knight :D. He's pottering around with the backhoe (and digging large holes) so I'll let him know what's going on when he comes in. Knight sends his hugs too.

Lots and lots and lots of luffs! I can mail you cake if you like...I don't know how manky it would get on the way, but at least I can try!

Magpie.

P.S. Also, happy belated anniversary too :: huggums ::

No problem. Will update that information for you.

Yeah, I had ANOTHER card production notice and my EAD was touched again today so hopefully it wont be too long. I still dont feel confident applying for anything but large companies (their HR processes take so long!) so I would like it in hand to really get things moving.

Looks like I may have lined up some work, working for the same company my husband does. They are in a bit of a jam and need someone to put together the contracts and proposals (in steps the contract law lover) so I am going to do that for a while until I can drive and apply for something a little further a field. I mean, I love my husband, but if we work together for too long as well as live together...

I might have to kill him.

Okay........... I waited for the AP and worried it wouldn't be approved, now I've got it I'm worried about using it  ( I worry about everything) lol. Anyway we have booked our tickets to go see my mum who lives in Abu Dhabi, she bought us tickets way back in March for the first ever grand prix race held there (more for my hubby than me). I booked the ticket in my maiden name as I haven't changed my passport yet, do I just need to take my marriage certificate and 1 of the AP documents with me or do I need both? I read on it that they can still refuse you entry back into the US so I want to make sure I have everything. Does it matter what reason you are leaving the country for? Obviously watching Formula 1 isn't an emergency

Thanks everybody. You are very kind. We are officially moved!! It was very hard this week but when you have a deadline, you've got to push on through. And the buyer called and said all is ready for 3 pm tomorrow afternoon.

So now that the deadline has been met..house empty and sparkly clean (best $75 I've ever spent) and the last of the stuff is piled in the new house...we are doing nothing but sleep and catch up on recorded TV. Nick's Mum and niece are coming from England on the 22nd, Hopefully we get some stuff unpacked so they can have sheets to sleep on...LOL...but we're not going to fret over perfection. And we thought that would be a nice time for our anniversary celebration since his family didn't travel over for our quickie wedding. Our top layer of the wedding cake is frozen at a friend's house. Mum will be pleased to have wedding cake and champagne I think.

I love my new house and can't wait to get it arranged after we've rested up a bit.

That sounds awesome, Nich. Now you're all settled (at least before the mad unpacking splurge), you can focus on relaxing and feeling better. And it was such a good idea to freeze the top layer of the cake!

Good news on the job front, Ellie. It's a start, eh?

Emma, I'm pretty sure you just need your marriage certificate and the AP document, but I'm also nervous about using it when I go to the UK this winter. The "not guaranteed entry" thing had me worried too, but you know what, I'm just going to chill out about it. They have no reason not to let me enter - I can prove I intend to live here, and just wanted to visit my family. I'm sure it's the same for you too, but take evidence with you if it makes you feel better.

I see that my EAD and AP have been touched. :)

EAD and AP approved! SO happy! Its safe to start looking for a job while we wait for the card right?? Or should we wait??

For what its worth, I had signed up for mobile updates and have been getting them for I-485, but we only got these approvals through case updates and emails...no texts. the emails were sent at 8:30 last night.

Congrats Laura!

I have started looking and applying to larger companies but I am being conservative about what I apply for...especially if they are hiring immediately / a smaller company. I dont think it'll take the full 30 days to get the card....but I am always so paranoid when it comes to USCIS....

Especially as apparently my card production was ordered last Friday and again this Wednesday and THEN according to an email last night, I went one step back in the process from card production ordered to - petition approved! Weird!

My AP has arrived in the post though - and according to the website, it has only been approved and production of document is yet to occur
